Katherine POV
"I don't know what to wear," I say to Harper as I show her some options.
"Have you got an idea of what kind of date this is?"
"Restaurant, that's all I know,"
"Go with the black one and the boots," I nod, picking them up.
"You're nervous," she says
"I have to kiss him, Harps," she chuckles. "Stop laughing,"
"I'm sorry, but it's funny you having to kiss Lando Norris. You're making it out like it's a bad thing,"
"It is," she shakes her head.
"Have you seen that man? Also, I've heard what people who have slept with him say, and god, are you lucky,"
"I'm not sleeping with him,"
"Maybe you need to get rid of the sexual tension,"
"There's no sexual tension,"
"There is the sexual tension between you two, I say just fuck already," I hit her with the pillow.
"I'm just saying you need to get laid,"
"I will not be sleeping with Lando Norris. I'm not just going to be one of his conquests,"
"Have you slept with anyone since you and Theodore broke up?"
"No," her mouth falls open
"It's been a year, and you haven't slept with anybody," I shake my head
"I've kissed people, but I've never been attracted to them enough to go any further,"
"I'm such a bad best friend," she shakes her head. "You have guys falling at your feet, and not one has interested you enough to sleep with one of them,"
"Nope," I finish my makeup and slip on the dress.
"You look beautiful," she says. I smile at her.
"Thank you,"
"Now go kiss that man like you've never kissed anyone before," the knock on the door pulls me away, and I go to open it.
Lando was standing there he looked good. I watched him eye up my body and then look in my eyes.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah, let me grab my purse," he waits at the door. As I walk to Harper, she hands me my things.
"How can that man get hotter?" She whispers.
I make my way back over to him, and he holds his arm out, which I take. Fans surrounded the hotel, and we stopped to take some photos signing autographs until we made it to the car.
He opens my door, helping me inside, then jogs over to his side, getting in.
The drive wasn't that long. We didn't talk. Marcus and Claire were right when they said paparazzi had been called.
"Couldn't they have at least waited to call them when we're inside?" He sighs he helps me out the car and pushes past the paparazzi shielding me from the camera. Our table was near the window, so they had a view of everything.
Lando places his hand over mine, resting it on top of the table, and he ordered some wine.
"Don't worry, I'm only going to have one glass. Do I'm okay to drive,"
"The hotel isn't that far. We could probably walk it if you wanted more than one glass," he looks at me.
"You sure?" I nod.
"I think we're both going to need it," he chuckles and takes a sip.
We sat there in silence it wasn't an awkward silence like the car ride.
"I can't sit here in silence any longer," he speaks. "we can try to make conversation, try to get along, right?"
"What happened to Lando?" He rolls his eyes at me.
"We're in this mess for the whole season, so we might as well try to get along," I nod.
"Okay, we can try,"
"What do people do on first dates?"
"Wait, you've never been on a date before?" I ask him, causing him to shake his head.
"I've never had a girlfriend before, which you should know I don't normally take girls in dates just take them to bed,"
"I mean, I knew you've never had a girlfriend, but I didn't think you've never been on a date,"
"You're the first girl I've brought on a date fake or real," his hand was still on mine.
"I guess they get to know each other, but we did that with the email," I take a sip of my drink.
"We got to know the basics about each other, that's all," he pulls my chair around to him. "Tell me something nobody knows about you," he was so close why was I nervous.
I hold my pinkie out for him he looks at it and bats it out of the way before leaning forward, cupping my cheeks.
"A kiss for a secret,"
"I've never heard of this game before," I let out
"That's because it's exclusively ours," I could feel his breath on my lips.
"What if it's not good enough?"
"We have to kiss either way, right?"
"Right,"
"May I?" I nod he leans forward, capturing my lips. I kiss him back, his hands on my cheeks pulling me closer to deepen the kiss. He pulls away.
"Tell me," I had forgotten about that part.
"I'm afraid of the water,"
"As in the sea?" I nod.
"You'll never catch me in," stupid childhood trauma, "your turn"
He pulled me back in for a kiss. I wasn't expecting it.
"I'm afraid of the dark,"
"Really?" He nods.
"Have to sleep with a nightlight," he lets out a laugh.
"Guess were both afraid of silly things," he nods.
"Guess so," he stands up, holding his hand out.
"Let's go," we had finished our wine. I took his hand, and he led us outside.
"Are you two together?"
"What happened to the rivalry?"
"When did this happen?"
Questions getting shot at us left and right Lando leads us away, but they follow.
"We should run," I look at him
"You're joking?" He shakes his head.
"We need to lose them," I look back, seeing them surrounding us. I nod, and he smiles at me. We begin to run hand in hand they started to pick their pace up.
Lando pushes me into a back Ally and leans over my body as they run past us.
"We should wait them out," he says he didn't move he stayed there. I was looking up at him.
All of a sudden, it started to rain.
"Fuck," he says I laugh.
"You scared it's gonna ruin your hair?"
"You're not?" I shake my head, pulling him out from the Ally and into the street.
He watched as I spin around the rain falling onto me as I laughed his arm wraps around my waist.
"Who would have thought you could have fun," he says, looking down at me.
"You gonna join me?" He nods and takes my hand the two of us dancing in the rain laughing care free.
