Chapter Sixteen

Silverstone Grand Prix Week

Lando POV

"Oscar, please, will you just help me,"

"I don't want to be included in this mess. Stop pulling me in," he says, shaking his head.

"You love Katherine, don't you want to see her happy?"

"I do, but she made it pretty clear that she doesn't want you near, and I will not go against it," I huff "unless you tell me what really happened?" I shake my head.

"No, I'm not telling anyone until I speak to her it's okay. I'll figure it out myself,'

"Do you think she's going to crash into you take you out," I look at him

"No,"

"I'd be scared she had red in her eyes. I thought she was going to kill you,"

"Well, I didn't think it, but I certainly do now. Thanks, Oscar,"

"No problem," he taps me on the back.

Max hadn't spoken to me since the pictures got leaked he couldn't even look at me. I lost the two most important people in my life that day, my best friend and my girl.

"You were supposed to be making your image look good," he slams his hand down on the table. "No worse, this is far worse than you could imagine everyone thinks you broke the golden girls heart," I did break her heart.

"I know I'm sorry, okay?" he stares at me.

"What?"

"I said I was sorry,"

"That's what I thought, but you never say that, especially not towards your personal life,"

"Things change," he takes a seat.

"Holy shit," he says. "You fell for her,"

"That obvious?"

"Who would have thought," he lets out a sigh. "She actually got through to you,"

"And I fucked it up,"

"Yeah you did sorry man," i shake my head.

"It's all good. I'll sort it,"

I watch Katherine walking past the garage. I turn to Oscar, who shakes his head.

"I can't just let her slip away," I get up running after her.

"Katherine,"

"Norris, what do you want?" " Ouch, the last name that hurt.

"I'm not letting you slip away,"

"You have no choice, I told you I didn't want to see you,"

"And I told you I'm not letting you slip away," she rolls her eyes and turns away.

"Leave her alone," I scrunch my nose up, closing my eyes when I hear his voice.

"Max," I say, turning around "How are you mate," I bite my lip.

"Don't mate me," I nod. "You hurt her, Norris,'

"What is it with you red bull drivers giving me the last name,"

"Oh, I don't know you broke her heart. That might be the reason,"

"I'm sorry, okay,"

"Doesn't cut it,"

"I want to talk to her, explain everything,"

"You've said enough," he looks at me, then sighs. "Let her calm down and talk to her at Spa she loves Spa, who might get her in a good mood,"

"I don't think I can wait that long,"

"You have no choice she'll have calmed down by then. It might be easier and gives you time to plan something nice,"

"Something nice,"

"And expensive," I nod as he walks closer. "And big, I want to see her smiling when she gets back, understand,"

"I understand,"

"Good, now we have that covered," he punches me in the arm

"Ow,'

"You're lucky it isn't your face, but since you're my best friend, I let you off,"

"Thanks, I guess,"

"No problem."

Katherine POV

"Charles, what would it take for you to crash into him?"

"I'm not crashing into Lando,"

"I'll do it,'Arthur speaks Charles, shooting a look at him.

"No, you won't,"

"I crash most of the time anyway. I'll just make sure I'm next to him,'

"Arthur," Charles warns

'What, he hurt, Kate? I can't let that slide."

"So crashing into him makes it better?'

"No."

"See," Charles says, smiling

"But it's a start,"

"You two are menaces together,"

"Least I know one. Leclerc has my back, and to think I thought it would have been you since we've known each other longer,"

"Don't forget he was your old teammate at sauber," I gasp.

"Even worse," I joke

"I hate you two so much,"

"He loves us," Arthur says

"Couldn't live without us," I add Charles, shaking his head at the both of us.

"Oh, is it pick on Charles day?" Harper says, sitting down

"Harper, don't you start too,"

"Oh, come on Charles its a ritual. Once these two are together and you're sat there, you know what's coming,'

"Sadly I do,"

"Anyway," she turns to me. "I saw Lando stopped you,"

"Are you spying on me?'

"You were just in my eyesight, and I stopped,"

"Yeah, he stopped me. I wanted to explain i wouldn't let him,"

"To think he had me routing for him," Harper says

"And me," Arthur and Charles say.

"Well, you guys can stop now,"

"I still have hope," Charles says.

"Yeah, you have to since you drive for Ferrari," i speak.

"That was a personal attack Kate I thought you were better than that," he puts his hand to his heart.

"Deal with it when you drive your shit car,"

"I thought we were friends"
