Third Person POV:
Max and Lucas pop their heads above the water again, searching the beach.
"How long has Mike been above the water?" Lucas asks Max. The girl thinks for a moment.
"Um, I think three days," Max says. "Murray said that your transformation only lasts for three days until it needs to be soaked again."
Lucas frowns. "So Mike might be caught," He says, worried.
But then they saw Will, Steve, and Mike walk onto the beach. The two mermaids sank lower into the water so they weren't seen.
They watched the three talk, and when Steve pulled out a spear, they both froze in fear for Mike. They were surprised when Will stepped in the way, protecting Mike from being killed. Lucas sighed in relief when Steve put down the spear.
When Will gave Mike a kiss on the cheek and told him to leave, Max and Lucas exchanged glances.
The two went underwater when Mike dove down, immediately swimming to him with anger on their faces. Mike! Max exclaims. What were you doing dilly dallying with that boy at the shopping places?
Mike kept swimming, ignoring them. Lucas grabbed his shoulder, causing him to spin around in shock.
Why didn't you come back when you had the chance to? Lucas questions. You were free to run off.
Mike stared at him, confusion clear as day on his face. But then fear crawled up instead. He tapped his forehead and pointed at Lucas, an urgent look on his face. Lucas and Max exchanged glances.
What are you.. Max trails off, her eyes widening. You can't hear us. Lucas, he can't hear us.
Mike looked between the two worried and confused. He tapped his head again, pointing at Lucas, not realizing they got the message. Lucas nodded, before he grabbed Mike's wrist and pulled him along with them, as they swam to Murray's house.
Murray! Max yells out as they enter the skeleton house. Murray's house was different then everyone's, it was made of a water dragon skeleton instead of a whale. We need your help.
The octopus hybrid enters the area, glaring. What do you want, children? He asks, annoyed
Mike can't hear us. Lucas says, pushes the ravenette forward.
Oh you found him. Murray says in surprise. Well, being on land for so long will obviously have it's effects.. You said he can't hear? The two nodded. Mike looked between them all in extreme confusion. I think I have the right antidote.
Murray swims off, grabbing something off a rock shelf with one tentacle and opening a chest with another.
He swims back, and makes Mike sit down on the ground. Alright, I would tell him to stay still but he can't hear me. Murray sighs. He opens the tube he was holding and wipes a smudge of glowing algae on Mike's forehead, drawing a circle.
Then he pulls out another tube and hands it to Mike, making the gesture of sipping.
Mike stares at him, before slowly uncorking the thing and downing all the liquid inside before it could float away. He frowns as Murray takes the tube back from him, staring at the man confused.
What's going on? Lucas asks. What did that do?
Just wait a moment, it should work soon. Murray says. Then he'll be able to talk again.
