Third Person POV:

"Her Majesty, Princess Jane Byers," The announcer says.

Jane enters the throne room, in all her regal greatness. Court members had filled up the throne room seats, which were on either side of the red carpet. Long wooden seats on two different levels, so everyone could see.

The princess stops in front of her parents thrones, curtsying, before walking over to her throne, taking a seat.

"His Majesty, the heir to the throne of the kingdom, William Byers," The announcer says.

Will enters the throne room, striding through in false confidence. No one could tell it was false, though. He made his way in front of his parents throne, bowing, before walking to his throne and sitting down.

Hopper let a moment pass before he spoke, his powerful voice echoing through the room. "Welcome, and thank you all for coming," He says. "Let the meetings began."

"Please welcome, after a long time away from home, His Majesty, the prince, Jonathan Byers," The announcer says. Jane grins and Will has a half smile on his face. The doors open, and there his was. Their big brother. He was wearing a similar outfit to Will's, with a few things different and the coloring was his own.

He walked into the room, smiling, and bowed in front of his parents.

"Welcome back, Jonathan," Joyce says kindly, smiling at her son. "How was your travels?"

Jonathan stands up straight again. "They were quite interesting," He says.

Joyce gestures to Jonathan's throne, which was on her side inside of Hopper's, like Jane's. Will was on Hopper's side because he was the heir to the throne.

"Please welcome, Captain Charles 'The Slayer' Archer," The announcer says. "And his first mate."

The doors open again and in comes two pirates. The one in front had a hook instead of a left hand, and a pretty stereotypical pirate outfit. The other one, the first mate, was a woman with wind tussled hair, brown and wavy, she had an eye patch on her right eye.

The court members were silent, not knowing what to expect.

Hopper narrowed his eyes at them. "What have you to say?" He inquires, gesturing to them with his hand.

"We have an interesting quest we need your permission for," The first pirate, Charles Archer, says. Joyce raises an eyebrow, gesturing for them to go. "We've recently found a mermaid who is very special, but to find this mermaid, we must search through your kingdom bay."

Hopper leans forward, hands linked together in interest. "What makes this mermaid so special?" He questions.

"It's a rumored black tailed mermaid, said for its blood to have special healing properties," The first mate says, stepping forward. Will's eyes widen a fraction. "It's said that with the right preparation, it can heal any disease in the world."

Joyce and Hopper exchanged glances, obviously interested. Will could hear the court muttering in interest as well. This was not good.

"We'll place a vote," Joyce decided. "First, my children," She glances between the three. "What is your opinion on this matter?"

Jonathan frowns in thought. "I would say yes," He says.

"If it is for curing diseases, then yes," Jane says, nodding.

Will shakes his head, trying not to look as terrified as he is. "I say no, this is a random creature who might not even know their blood is special," He says. "It's not right to take it from them."

He glances to the side and makes eye contact with Steve, who was glaring at him.

Steve knew Mike was the black tailed mermaid the pirates were talking about. And he knew that Will knew that too. Will glanced back at his mother and father.

"Alright, now, the court must vote as well," Joyce says.

It takes around half an hour, before the votes have all been tallied and counted, but soon Joyce had the finally decision.

"We will allow you to reach for this mermaid," Joyce says. "If you stay away from our civilians."

Will has to resist the urge to facepalm. This was not good.

The pirate nodded, bowing before leaving with the first mater. Will pressed the bridge of his nose, sighing. More meetings went by smoothly, with Will only having to input his opinion a few more times, until the end. The court members had all left, it was just the royal family and guards.

"Now, we'll be going on a cruise in two days," Joyce says.

Will's eyes rose. "A cruise?" He questions at the same time as Jane, him sounding actually like a question and her sounding excited.

"Yes," Jane says, nodding. "Your father will stay here to take care of the kingdom."

Jonathan frowns. "Might I stay back as well?" He asks.

Joyce frowns back. "No, this is supposed to be a family vacation, although your father insisted on staying," She sends an annoyed look at her husband. "We'll be taking the royal cruiser, so you should begin packing."

The Byers siblings nod, and leave the room.

Once Will and Jane were back in the salon area, Will let out a sigh. "Why are we going on a cruise now?" He questions. "I don't understand."

His maids began helping him out of his outfit. "I'm not sure, brother," Jane says.

Although, if we're on a cruise, maybe I'll see Mike in the water. Will thought, a distant look in his face as he brightened up almost immediately after thinking of it.

Jane watched her brother with a confused and amused look.

Once he got the corset off, he sighed, stretching his arms. "God, my chest hurts," He says. "That's gonna be sore tomorrow."

"Oh well," Jane says as a maid dabs her makeup away to put more neutral colors. "I'm excited for the trip. Maybe we'll see some mermaids, hm?" She giggles. "Maybe once you see one you won't be as obsessed. My professor says they're actually very scary."

Will scoffs, smiling as his eyes roll.

She doesn't know I've already seen and met one. He thinks, his smile fading ever so slightly.

The maids finished getting them back in regular clothes, and the two siblings walk back to their separate rooms, bidding each other farewell.
