Mrs LeClerk's Vengeance

(Hey all, this part should wrap up the Red Dead online story and we should meet Sadie and Jake in the next part for sure. Enjoy and feedback is appreciated!)

Mr Horley nodded and introduced Simon to Mr Cripps. The three men spoke about a variety of things but mostly to help Simon on his journey and mission for Mrs LeClerk now. "Meet me in Blackwater when you're ready and we will discuss the next steps." Horley stated as it was pretty clear now that the discussion was over for now. Simon then mounted the old, weak horse that he had been given and slowly began making his way to Blackwater. He travelled for days, since this horse was definitely not built for long days of travelling now in the years it had been alive for. As the nights arrived on his travelling, he would stop and set up camp with a little campfire, his bedroll on the floor beside it and a tent incase it rained but it hardly did. He mamaged to survive hia journey to Blackwater on the few cans he had of food that were given to him when he received his clothes and equipment.

"Great, im back here again..." He grumbled softly under his breath as he slowly rode into the town keeping his head down so his hat would cover his face incase anyone recognised him from all those months ago. Thankfully in the six months since he was shipped to Sisika it seemed the law in Blackwater had become more relaxed, some things had changed, others had stayed the same but there was one clear thing: there was a lot less law around and he couldn't have been more grateful for that. The place he was supposed to meet Horley at was just outside a building on the edge of town in a workers campsite of sorts since they were busy constructing some new buildings in town of which he had no idea what they were and he didn't care, he was here for Horley and thats it.

He appraoched the camp and dismounted his horse, slowly walking over to the tents, the spurs in his boots jingling with each step he took and soon Horley walked out of the tent afguing with some strange old man. At first Simon thought it was Cripps but soon realised this wasnt the case, the two seemed to be bickering like an old married couple and it was clear the old man wasn't liked much and eventually Mr Horley ignored him turning to Simon. "Ah good, you're here..we need you to go and help a man, Marshal Tom Davies...hes hunting a man by the name Alfredo Montez and is having some trouble and we need you to help him whilst we figure out the next step to find Mrs LeClerk's suspect...besides could be good to get the law on your side." He stated.

Simon huffed but he knew Horley had a point about getting the law on his side as it could help clear his name easier. "Fine,where do I find him..?" He asked and Horley told him the location near to Pike's Basin. He went and met with the Marshall and this turned out to be more of a complicated mission than just a one time thing..it took him all over the country but eventually after about a week it was done and to be honest he was started to get pissed off. This was useful, yes but even he saw this as just a waste of time, he needed to get Mrs LeClerk's task done and fast. He needed to clear his name. Eventually he heard news about Horley once again from the creepy old man who called himself Joe and thus his journeys took him all the way west to Fort Mercer, since this is where one of the male suspects was held up.

It took Simon a week or so to travel all the way to Fort Mercer but on the way he at least managed to buy a new horse so he could travel around the country better now. As he arrived at Fort Mercer, the place was already under siege by the law but the fort was an easy place to defend and they had made little to no progress. "Forgive my harshness, but this assault ain't going so well Sir." He said to Horley as Horley now suggested the idea of body armour before going into the fort. Simon thought this sounded ridiculous and yet he agreed anyway, he was a desperate man and he put the armour on making him look like a medival knight. "I look ridiculous but whatever works" He stated and joined the assault now.

It dragged on for hours but eventually they broke through the fort's defenses and made their way into the fort. Simon with his trusty repeater and revolver dropped all of the suspects goon's in a matter of minutes and soon enough they got their hands on the suspect. Mrs LeClerk arrived and began interrogating the suspect. He said that he was hired by another man on LeClerk's suspect list and then he passed away from his injuries. "Dammit!" Mrs LeClerk grumbled being visibly upset and Horley began talking her down and soon they rode off and said to meet them just outside of Blackwater when he would next hear from them.

He waited for days...days turned into weeks...and weeks almost turned into a month before he heard from Horley and Mrs LeClerk again. So he went and met them just outside if Blackwater at a nearby dock for boats, here Mrs LeClerk explained that they would be meeting a fella named Amos Lancing, the supposed suspect of the murder of her husband now. They were to meet in Blackwater in the main street with Simon as protection since they did not expect this meeting to be a fair one. "Okay, lets get this over with..but dont forget my payment ajd your promise." Simon stated with a bit more of a colder tone to his voice for once even if he hardly spoke and soon he, Horley and Mrs LeClerk made their way to Blackwater.

Once they arrived the town was empty, drier than a desert it was...not a single soul walking around, yet far from a ghost town. They stopped the wagon and headed to the main street on foot whilst Simon climbed onto the roof of one of the buildings to overlook and watch the meeting whilst hidden. At the first sign of trouble he would open fire and make no mistake there surely would be, for Mr Lancing had alot of men with him in that street, a couple dozen at least, Simon reckoned. Lancing approached LeClerk and they started to talk, at first it seemed somewhat civilised...but out here..its never long lasting and the conversation quickpy went south, Mr Lamcing knew how to press LeClerks buttons and admitted all be it subtlely to the murder. "Well, I guess this conversation is over then..." Mrs LeClerk stated as she began searching in her little bag, nobody knew why until...

BANG! One shot through her purse, the bullet piercing Mr Lancings chest but he was still alive although not for long now. In the shock, chaos errupted, LeClerk and Horley quickly took cover as Lancings men opened fire and now it was time for Simon to join in. He revealed himself on the rooftop stating in cover and began picking off the goons one by one with his repeater. Within minutes, the street was clear and now he had to escort LeClerk to her wagon and get her out of town. This wouldn't be easy, as soon as Simon hit ground level and reunited with LeClerk, riders came into town...seeming like more of Lancins men: "Go!, get to the wagon!" Simon had probably raised his voice for the first time ever at that moment but now things were desperate, they were outgunned and way outnumbered as they made their way to the wagon and he kept them covered as best he could.

Once they arrived at the wagon, Horley took that thing off like a bullet out a revolver, they rode and rode whilst Simon kept watching for more 'bad company'. Eventually, they stopped the wagon just outside of Strawberry and Mrs LeClerk paid Simon his money now. "Thank you for your services, I know it weren't easy but it is over now and by my word your name will be cleared.Now I best get out of here. Horley Drive!" LeClerk said as Simon got off the wagon now and his horse had followed just behind so he was not stranded. It may have been a long and hard process but now, now he was a free man as he got on his horse and became a drifter once more...

(Hey, sorry its a little longer than usual but I really wanted to get the Red Dead online story over with and out of the way this part, in any case I hope its enjoyable so far somewhat and next part we will meet Sadie and Jake and hopefully things will pick up a little more and be a bit better.
