(Hey y'all, this will be the chapter of Simon joining the gang and will be slightly longer than usual but as always, enjoy!.)

Simon had left for Lake Isabella, thankfully that little bit of time he spent in that cabin had warmed him up enough for this journey. He slowly made his way through the cold and harsh wind of the Grizzlies mountains. The snow covered his clothes, he might as well have been a ghost if you looked at him from a distance. After about an hour, he finally reached the area where Sadie and her husband had said their wagon had gone missing. He found it between a crop of trees, with a group of men around it looking none too friendly. Simon sighed dismounting his horse well enough away so not to alert 'em to his prescence. "Great, of course its guarded.." *He muttered softly to himself as he grabbed his repeater off his horse and began carefully making his way down into the crop of trees, the mountain was fresh with snow and descending it was not easy, he slowly made his way down, careful not to slip as the slightest mistep could cost him his life.

Soon enough he was right ontop of the men and could hear them talking he was so close. He needed to do this quietly, he was outnumbered by at least 7 men, he held his repeater in his hand and carefully unsheathed his knife as he snuck up behind one guy and carefully stabbed him in the throat covering his mouth and carefully lowered his body into the snow. "One down.." he whispered to himself as he moved around the camp now carefully taking out a few more men quietly as the snow began to turn red with the blood. Soon there were three men left, all huddled together next to the wagon and sneaking wasnt an option anymore.

He sighed and decided to confront them head on. He cocked his repeater and quickly ran out into the open firing off some shots, the men panicked and teied to draw their guns..however they weren't fast enough...soon their bodies fell into the snow. Simon cocked his gun once more and whistled for his horse. "Right back you go.." He said climbing into the wagon and spurring the reins and horses into action with his horse following close behind as he travelled back to the ranch now. The journey took a while and when he reached the ranch again it was almost night time. He got off the wagon stopping it near the oermiter fence and went over to the main house knocking on the door.

"Sadie, Mr. I got your wagon back." He said with a shiver to his voice, because it was dark now almost, the temperature had dropped and it was close to negative 20° C out. He needed to make a fire soon but he wanted to make sure they got their wagon first. The man came and answered the door and smiled seeing Simon alive in one piece "Hey, good job..ill sort that out tomorrow when its warmer, please come in.." he stood out the way a bit to let Simon in. "Thank you Mr." Simon said entering the house and tipping his hat slightly seeinf Sadie at the dinner table, it seemed like the two of them were busy having dinner.

The man closed the door and came to sit by the table again. "Please just call me Jake, Simon." He said softly sitting down at the table again. "Sorry for interrupting your dinner." Simon said sounding genuinely like he felt a little bad about the interruption. "Nah, I wouldn't worry about it Simon..warm yourself up by the fire a bit..would you like some food..?" Sadie asked him, she seemed more friendlier now to him...but In a way Simon getting the wagon back for them was a proof of trust in a way. He was a good man and now that was more obvious to the couple. "Yes please..." Simon said going to stand by the fireplace so that he could warm up slightly from the cold. The snow on his clothes began to thaw and slowly just turned into water as he began ti warm up. Sadie dished up some of the delicious stew that her and Jake seemed to be having and Jake brought a plate over to Simon. "Thank you." He said softly as he took the plate and began to carefully eat the food, it was the best meal he had eaten in a while and it warmed him from the inside out. The three of them sat and ate their meals, talked and enjoyed themselves into the night slightly until around midnight as everyone got ready for bed.

Jake was kind enough to have let Simon sleep in the house up in the little attic platform they had. Simon was really grateful to them and for the first time in a while since he and his sister had drifted apart, he felt like he had people he could call friends. He spent a few months helping them out with various jobs, he was still a drifter make no mistake but every month he would pay a visit to the Adler's ranch and the three if them grew even closer. Mostly Simon and Jake, Sadie tended to be a bit more distant but she still considered Simon a friend and nobody could deny the work that he had done for them in the mountains over the months.

However...it didnt last...

It was 1899 now, April...Simon was on his way to their ranch again however it was a horrible time, it was nearing the end if winter but there was a terrible snowstorm happening again in the mountains. Some way up the mountain, the storm got so bad that he couldn't see properly anymore. He kept riding, doing his best to stick to the trail until he stumbled across some other horses and people on the trail. He wasnt sure if they were friendly and he couldnt make it out in the terrible weather.

"Hello?!" He yelled a bit over the howling wind, he had no choice he couldnt try shoot in this, he had to hope they were friendly until-

BANG-! A shot hit him right in his shoulder and he slumped falling off his horse into the snow. His horse spooked by the sudden violence ran off and the group of horses came closer to him now. It was a bunch of gang members now and that much became clear very quick when they robbed Simon of everything he had even taking his guns and left as the storm cleared slightly. He was now stuck in the mountains all alone...no food, no water, no horse...nothing but his blood seeping out of his shoulder that felt warm to him. "Well this is it I guess.." he said, Simon was many things but he wasn't much afraid of dying. And right now, thats what he thought was going to happen..there was no way he would survive this.

He sat in the snow, he managed to get under a tree and grabbed some braches and leaves trying to make some form of a fire, he spent hours trying as he continued to slowly bleed, he was dying a slow death up here. "Dammit-!" He grumbled failing again and again at getting a fire started. Soon he heard voices, he thought he was going off his head and turning yellow. Nobody could be out in this, although the storm had cleared up a bit more. Then he heard them again...louder this time, he quickly went and hid behind a tree incase it was the same bad men from earlier who robbed him.

The voices continued to grow louder and now he could hear something else, horses...and wagon wheels creaking. "Sounds like quite the travelling party." He said knowing the only people with that many horses or wagons had to be the army or something but they hsd no reason to be up here. It kept getting louder and louder until now Simon could see the wagons and horses, there seemed to be a lot of people too, so.e women, a child, and a lot of men, the wagon in front had an older man who reminded Simon of Mr Horley in a way and another man with some slicked back hair and a mustache, he looked pretty flashy and charismatic just from his clothes.

"Ow!!" Simon yelled as he gripped his shlulder falling into the snow. This caused the wagons to all stop and so.e guns to be drawn. The man with the mustache spoke telling another man to check out the noise but Simon couldnt make out what they said, all he could focus on was his pain right now. As Simon knelt in the sand tremblinf from the cold and holding his shoulder, a man approached him "You alright there boah?" The man said holding his revolver incase Simon was a threat.

Simon looked up, the man was in a big blue coat for the cold and had medium length hair with a beard and a black hat with some rope on it. Simon didnt have much choice it was either die here from cold or let these people kill him instead. "Im hurt..." He said wincing in pain as he tried to stand. The man quickly put his gun away and rushed over to Simon helping him up "Come on.." He took Simon to the wagons and helped him into the back of one of them "Reverend, help this man." The man walked off and went to speak to the mustach man, he seemed to be the leader and explained how Simon was hurt and they agreed to help him. The reverend began patching Simon up with the help of some of the other people in the wagon.

Simon looked around at the people as he started getting treated, his vision was blurry and he was freezing and he slowly passed out as the wagons and horses convoy moved once more.
