Prison Break

(Red dead Online story time, this is probably just going to be the beginning of the story but the next part should fly through things a little faster!)

Those six months in Sisika Penitentiary were horrid for Simon, yet he was probably one of the best behaved prisoners on the island on account of his lack of talking and being a very kept to himself person. He kept to himself during his stay, doing the mundane and demanding work the guards and lawmen set them on like work details out on the mainland, breaking rocks, carrying heavy supplies etc. One day he and a few other prisoners got selected to go and perform a work detail out near Valentine and so they were all forced into the back of the wagon whilst the guards drove off with them.

Along the journey the guards chatted about their wives, education and other things along with telling the prisoners to keep quiet even if they werent making a noise and all was going smooth for them until they arrived upon what seemed to be a turned over stagecoach in the street causing the wagon to stop. Soon enough three men appeared, an older dignified man introduced himself as Horley whilst the other two men just stood there and looked mean. It was hard for Simon or any of the prisoners really to see what was happening from the back of the wagon but the next thing they knew the guards were throwing their weapons down and one of them came around to the back of the wagon with Horley and unlocked it opening it.

"All of you get out of here, except you." Horley said pointing a finger at Simon. Horley then turned to fqce the guards and made sure they left before taling to the two men he had hired now with Simon following like a confused little puppy behind him uncertain of what was wanted of him but he didn't quite care at this point since he was free for once.

"I believe it was fifty dollars we agreed on?" Horley said more as a question than anything as he paid the two men and they were in their way. Horley then turned to face Simon "Im sure you must have a lot of questions...come on, grab those guns and ride with me and I'll explain on the way."

Simon answered with a low grumble in his voice as he picked the guns up and put the gunbelt on, slung the carbine repeater over his shoulder and walked with Horley to a pair of horses, one alot worse for wear than the other and of course Simon had to get the bad horse. Soon enough, he and Horley started riding off now with Simon following slightly behind him as now Horley began to speak and explain to him.

"Six months at Sisika Penitentiary, awaiting a hanging for a murder you did not commit." Horley stated and it sparked Simon's curiousity how they knew he was innocent but he kept his mouth shut as they kept riding now to go and see this 'mistress' and Horley's employer. "It must have felt a lot longer, my friend. You still seem strong though, seems breaking all those rocks didnt break your spirit." Horley stated "Either way, you can do what you wish with your life now...but you will hear my misstress out first, she spent a considerable sum getting you out and you owe her an audience at least."

Simon once again grumbled lowly in response and soon enough he and this Mr Horley, who seemed like a decent enough feller arrived at a campsite, they hitched their horses on the hithching posts just outside and walked firther into the tent to encounter a fancy, civilised looking woman from the likes of a town like Saint Denis or Blackwater sitting at a table.

"Madam, we're here." Horley and Simon approached the table and announced their arrival. This caused the woman to look up at the two men. "Hello, Jessica LeClerk, how do you do?" She stated and got up coming over to Simon as she spoke again "I do hope we havent inconvenienced you but seeing as you were due to be hanged in a week, I am sure you don't object too strongly." The woman then went in to explain that Simon had been set-up and was falsely accused of murder and set up by either one of three men or a woman, she explained that these same people, one of them made her a widow and she was determined to avenge her husbands death.

"But thats enough talk for now, Horley give our new friend here some new clothes and some food and we can talk more." She stated as Horley came and took Simon to an empty tent. "In here you'll find some clothes, some food, a knife and a lantern, I believe. Come see my missus when you are finished."

Simon walked into the tent and got changed into some new clothes, he wore a white shirt now with some black pants, some brown and black boots with a tint of gold on them, some dark leather spurs, and some cotton suspenders. He was also given a few other items of clothing for colder weather and he grabbed everything that was offered to him. After all he was a recently escaped convict albeit falsely accused and this was like striking gold for him right now.

"Fine clothes." He mumbled softly to himself as he left the tent and went over to Mrs LeClerk again. Who had now prepared a meal of a nice stew on a plate in the table with some wine and asked Simon to take a seat. He did so ajd she began to speak again handing him some photos. "Those are my four suspects, all bad people and some former friends of mine or so I thought. One of them killed my husband and I intend for you to help me find out which and avenge him. All I ask is for your help, and your name will be cleared. You need me just as much as I need you...I believe we are all of a mutual understanding?"

Simon thought this was kind of stupid at the time, to go on a vengeance mission for some woman instead of enjoying his freedom but he knew he wouod never truly be free as long as their was a bounty on his head. "Yeah.." He said softly, he felt he had no choice bit to trust these people right now and he was indebted to them and now he had agreed to helping them.

"Good, I look forward to rewarding you for finding and killing those who made me a widow, it will be worth it for you. Now Horley, go introduce him to Mr Cripps."

(Im going to end this one here, I know things are going quite slow but as I said this will take a while but hopefully we will meet Sadie in part 3 or otherwise part 4, Thanks again for reading love you all <3)
