Nefertiti's POV

I walked around Yondu's ship, watching and calculating the steps of every man on this ship. I just got here about a year ago and was as confused as ever. If I was born just a year ago, why do I look like a fully grown adult? I wasn't told where we were going, but was deeply confused about what was going on when I walked closer to a bunch of laughter and teasing. I ran over and pushed people out of the way, gasping at the Terran that Yondu picked up. The boy was crying and looked terrified, so I crouched by the boy and set a hand on his arm, "It's okay. You're safe. I won't let them hurt you." The boy threw his arms around me and continued to cry, I snapped my head over to Yondu and glared at him, "How dare you steal this boy. What purpose does he carry?" Yondu smirked, "Good for small spaces to steal shit."

I stood up and held the boy in my arms, "He will do nothing of the sort. He's scared and alone. I won't let you do this to him." Yondu glared at me, "You don't have a choice, girl. You Sovereign are all the same. High and Mighty." I ignored Yondu's words and walked to my room, shutting and locking the door so no one would barge in and I set the boy down on my bed, "You will be okay. I promise."  The boy sniffled and looked at me confused, "What are you? How are you gold?" I smiled, "You didn't believe that Terrans were the only beings in the universe, did you? How about this? We start out getting to know each other and then I'll tell you what I know about my species. Deal?" I held out my hand for the boy to shake and he took it after a moment of hesitation.

I smiled sweetly, "My name is Nefertiti and if you allow it, I wish to be someone you consider a sister." The boy smiled, "My name is Peter Quill and I would be happy to consider you a sister, but after we know each other better." I nodded, "It is understandable. Now, if I may ask, what has made you so upset?" Peter frowned and teared up again, "My mother just died and I just ran out of the building. Like a coward. That's what got me kidnapped by that blue freak." I frowned, "Peter, you were upset and scared. You are not a coward. I would do the same if I was in your shoes." Peter smiled weakly, "Thank you, Nefer."

----------------26 years later on Morag-------------------

Peter and I got off of Milano and walked through the rain towards where the package was. After twenty-six years, you would figure that I would age, but nope. Peter finally considered me a sister about three months after he was taken by Yondu and all it took was for me to clock one of the Ravagers that threatened to eat him. I looked around at the abandoned planet and sighed in sadness as Peter scanned for where the piece was. I looked at the little girl and dog playing together and sighed, causing Peter to side-hug me.

Peter turned off the machine as we walked out of the rain and pushed a button on the edge of his mask, causing it to disappear and he looked up as he put his Walkman headphones on his head. I smiled and shook my head, knowing how much that music player meant to him. Peter started dancing to the music and I giggled as he kicked some Orloni as they jumped at him and used another as a microphone.

I jumped across an opening in the planet and Peter used his rocket shoes and I picked the lock as soon as he walked over to me. We both walked into the room and Peter pulled a light orb out of his pocket. We both looked at the guarded package we were supposed to grab for Yondu and walked over to it. I pulled a gravitational puller out of my pocket and set it on the ground as Peter watched the orb launch into the mechanism.

I smiled, "That was easy." Peter picked up the orb and we both turned around, only to see some men with guns, "Drop it!" Peter looked nervous, "Uh, hey." The leader spoke in his native language and then back to English, "Drop it, now! Or your golden whore gets it." I scoffed and Peter dropped the orb and held up his hands. "Hey, cool, man. No problem. But to be clear, she's my older sister and she's not a whore."

The man picked up the orb and looked at us, "How do you two know about this?" I held up my hands and glared at the two that were poking me with their guns, "We don't even know what that is. We're just junkers. He was just checking stuff out and I came to make sure he didn't die." The man glared at Peter, "He doesn't look like a junker. He's wearing Ravager garb and the Sovereign doesn't do junking, you're too highly evolved for that." The men kept shoving and poking me and Peter grew irritated, "This is just an outfit. Ninja turtle, stop touching my sister, she's much more than just a Sovereign."

The man grew annoyed, "What are your names!?" Peter quickly answered him, "My name is Peter Quill, okay? Dude, chill out." I gritted my teeth, "Nefertiti." The man yelled again, "Move!" Peter glared at the one shoving me as the other shoved him, "Why?" The man gazed at us, "Ronan may have questions for you as well as the Sovereign." Peter spoke up again, "There's another name you might know us by." The man stopped and turned around, intrigued.

Peter smiled, "Star-Lord and Lilith." The man gasped at the second name and the man poking me immediately stopped. The man looked at Peter, "I know of Lilith, but who?" Peter looked sad, "Star-Lord, man. Legendary Outlaw," Peter turned around to the two men, "Guys?" The man turned around again, "Move!" Peter looked pissed and dropped his hands, "Ah, forget this." I kicked the light orb behind me and it obliterated the two men behind us.

The man turned around, but Peter shot him, causing the man to go unconscious and drop the orb. I put the orb in my pocket and my sight widened as the man got back up. Peter looked at me with the same expression and looked back at the man, "Shit."
