I held up the telecommunicator and groaned, "Come on Rocket!" Gamora was sitting on the ground just looking around and we both heard the plant making noise but Gamora chopped it off when it began to annoy her. I sighed, "Thank you, I was going to lose my mind if it kept doing that." I heard something so I turned around and gave Gamora a confused look and she turned around to look at the sky.

We both saw a spaceship and then looked panicked as it came right at us. We both started running away and avoided the bullets that were shot at us. I saw a gorge on the planet and jumped down to avoid the ship from hitting me and Gamora landed face-first in the dirt. Gamora looked up, "Psychopath!" I groaned, "Did Nebula seriously take a Ravager ship and track you down just so she could be an angry sister?" Gamora got up and we both continued running, "Yep. She's after me, not you. Go back to Peter and let him know." I nodded, "Be careful!"

I ran back to Peter to try and convince him that something was wrong with this planet.

It was night when I made it back and I was breathing heavily as I made it to the front doors of Ego's home and shoved them open. Ego and Peter turned to me with a smile and Peter chuckled, "Did you run a marathon?" I snorted, "Just from Nebula. She tracked down Gamora." Peter looked concerned, "Is she okay?" I nodded, "Just having sibling bonding time."

I walked over to Peter and stood beside him as we listened to Ego speak. Ego smiled at me, "Nefertiti, I just told your brother, but everything is temporary. We are forever. Death is a stranger to the three of us." I looked surprised, "I wasn't expecting that." Peter chuckled, "Doesn't eternity get boring?" We both followed Ego as he kept talking, "Not if you have a purpose, Peter. Which is why you are both here. I told you how all those years ago I had an unceasing impose to find life. But what I did not tell you was how when I finally did find it...it was all so...disappointing."

We both looked at Ego, Peter more confused and I was more warily. "And that is when I came to a profound realization. My innate desire to seek out other life was not so that I could walk among that life. Peter...Nefertiti. I have found meaning," Ego looked at us with emotion, raising both of his fingers and touching our foreheads. I gasped as I looked at the ceiling at the eternity that Ego promised. It was....horrifying. Peter was under Ego's spell, but I wasn't so easily persuaded. Ego did something wrong when he planned with my mother about my birthing pod. DNA placement was only with the mother. The father had no control of it and Ego just wanted power from it.

I struggled to get out of the hold Ego had, but he was very strong. Ego kept talking as Peter and I kept listening, not willingly, "I call it the Expansion. It is my purpose, now it is both of yours as well." Peter gasped softly, "It's beautiful." Ego walked over to somewhere but I was still trying to fight, "Over thousands of years, I implanted thousands of extensions of myself on thousands of worlds. I need to fulfill life's one true purpose..To grow and spread covering all that exists until everything is...Me. I only had one problem. A single Celestial doesn't have enough power for such an enterprise. But three Celestials, well, now...That just might do."

Peter looked at Ego and Ego sighed, "Out of all my labors the most beguiling was to attempt to graft my DNA with that of another species. I hoped the result of such a coupling would be enough to power the expansion. I had Yondu deliver some of them for me. I had Yondu steal Nefertiti from her birthing pod. It broke the Ravager code, but I compensated him generously and to ease his conscience I said I'd never hurt them. I mean, that was true. They never felt a thing."

I gritted my teeth, he fucking killed all the kids he fathered and Ego didn't notice, "But one after the other, they failed me. Not one of them carried the Celestial genes. I implated DNA into Nefertiti to guarantee the Celestial Gene, but you know the Sovereign, egotistical beings. Who knows how Nefer would have turned out, but she's better than I imagined, including you Peter. Out of all my spawn, only you two carried the connection to the light. For the first time in my existence...I am truly not alone!"

Peter looked sad and Ego noticed, "What is it, son?" Peter whispered, "My friends." I whispered, "My Uncle." Ego rolled his eyes, "You see, that's the mortal in you, Peter. And the noble and loyalty in you, Nefertiti. We are beyond such things. Now-" Peter continued and looked at me, "But, my and Nefer's mother. You said you loved my mother. What about Nefertiti's mother?"

Ego smiled, "And that I did. My River Lilly who knew all the words to every song that came on the radio. I returned to Earth to see her three times. And I knew if I returned a fourth...I'd never leave. But with Nefertiti's mother, it was more educational. Once Narissa found out what I had done, she was furious and went to tell her brother, Neo. So, I did what I had to do with both of your mother's. It didn't break my heart when I slaughtered Narissa, it did break my heart to put that tumor in Meredith's head."

Peter and I looked at each other in fury about what Ego has done and I snarled, "You what?" Ego turned around, "I know that sounds bad." Peter snarled and we both shot Ego as many times as possible and Peter yelled at him, "You killed our mothers!" Ego looked angry, "I tried so hard," Ego turned into Hasselholf, "To find the form that best suited you and this is the thanks I get? You both really need to grow up." I screamed in pain as Ego summonded some light and shoved it through my body as he did with Peter and Ego glared at us, "I wanted to do this together, but I suppose you'll have to learn by spending the next thousand years as a battery!"

Peter looked over at me in pain and tried to reach for my hand, only to not be able to do so. I closed my eyes in pain and cried softly as Ego destoryed the Walkman that Peter's mom gave him. We both screamed as the pain got worse and I would give anything to see my Uncle bust in here to save us.
