The man fired his gun at us, but Peter pulled me down with him as the gun hit the wall. I held onto Peter as we flew out of the building and slammed onto the ground. We looked behind us to see the man in outrage, following us. I pulled out my gun and shot the men who were crowding around the Milano and then jumped in, and started pressing control buttons. Peter took care of the rest and flopped onto the ship, "Nefer, now would be a great time to be a genius and get us out of here."

I sat in the pilot's chair and fired up the ship, maneuvering to avoid the cannon fire that the men were firing at us. Peter maniacally laughed as I flew us away and out of danger until a geyser came out of nowhere and washed out the engines. Peter flew around the cabin as I tried to get the ship back under control before we hit the ground. I finally got us stable and sat back in my seat with a sigh of relief.

Peter sat beside me in the co-pilot's chair and we both were startled as a pink woman came from the underside hatch, "Peter?" I looked at Peter, unamused at how he said it would be a woman-free weekend and it would be sibling bonding time. The woman looked around, "What happened?" Peter smiled sheepishly, "Hey, uh...Uh..I..." The woman looked offended, "Bereet." Peter smiled and nodded, "Bereet! Look, I'm going to be totally honest with you. I forgot you're here."

Bereet looked at me and then frowned, "Who is the gorgeous woman with you?" I turned back around to the flight controls, "I'm his sister." We flew off the abandoned planet and Peter put in his Awesome Mix Vol. 1 tape and I jammed out to it. Peter and Bereet went down into the lower living quarters and I heard Peter yell, "No, wait, don't!"

I sucked in a breath, knowing that Yondu called him and I chuckled, Oh, he's going to be pissed when Peter doesn't tell him where we are. "You're alive because of me!" I heard Yondu yell and immediately Peter yelled back, "I'm alive because of Nefertiti and I will never forget that! She is my sister and she will always be more family than you!"

I was silent and I strained to hear the rest of the conversation, knowing that I was eavesdropping.

Yondu's POV

Quill hung up on me and I growled, walking away, "Put a bounty on him!" I grabbed Kraglin's sleeve, "Fourty k, but I want him back alive." Kraglin nodded, "Yes, Cap." Another Ravager walked up to me, "Alive?" I sneered, "That's what I said." He quickly replied, "I  told you when you picked that kid up, you should have delivered him and the golden chick like we were hired to do. They were cargo! You have always been soft on them." I grabbed his jacket, "You're the only one I'm being soft on!" I moved my coat so he could see my arrow, "Now, don't you worry about Mr. Quill and Ms. Nefertiti. As soon as we get them back here, I'm going to kill Quill myself. What we do need to worry about is who else out there wants that Orb!"

Nefertiti's POV

I let Peter fly a little bit as I sat in the co-pilot's seat, resting my eyes. Peter nudged me awake and I opened my eyes, "Are we already at Xandar?" Peter smiled and nodded, "Let's go get this to the broker and we could officially start sibling hang-out time." I smiled and got off the Milano as soon as Peter landed it, waving goodbye sweetly to his chick that he brought with us without me knowing.

I held the Orb in my hand and Peter opened the door to the Broker's business. I smiled and waved at him, "Good morning!" The Broker smiled at me, "Ah! Ms. Nefertiti. Mr. Quill." Peter nodded, "Broker. Sis, the Orb please."

I put the Orb on the counter and the Broker looked confused, "Where is Yondu?" Peter nodded and lied, "Wanted to be here. Sends his love. And told me to tell you, that you got the best eyebrows in the business." I rolled my eyes as the Broker scoffed a laugh. Peter looked at the Orb, "What is it?"

The Broker didn't look at Peter, "It's my policy never to discuss my clients or their needs." Peter looked frustrated, "Yeah, well, My sister and I almost died getting that for you." The Broker looked at Peter, "An occupational hazard, I'm sure, in your line of work. Your sister just follows you so you don't die." Peter continued talking, "Some machine-headed freak, working for a dude named Ronan."

The Broker looked up in fear, "Ronan? I'm sorry, Mr. Quill and Ms. Nefertiti. I truly am," The Broker started pushing Peter and me out of his shop, handing Peter the Orb, "But I want no part of this transaction if Ronan is involved." I walked outside, knowing that The Broker needed every bit of himself to push Peter out and I looked over at the green-skinned woman who was leaning against the wall and sighed, "Hello Gamora." Gamora narrowed her eyes at me, "Nefertiti."

I raised my arms up in defense, "I didn't even want to go find the Orb if that's what you're here for. I just wanted to have a sibling trip. Just to let you know, Quill won't let go of it so easily." Gamora sightly softened her eyes at me, "Good to know. I don't want to hurt you, Fern. So please don't get in the way."

I nodded and Peter came stumbling out, yelling at the door, "Hey, we had a deal bro!" I shook my head and Peter looked at Gamora, slightly enamored. Gamora ate some fruit, "What happened?" Peter tilted his head at her, "Ah, this guy just backed out of a deal on me. If there's one thing I hate, it's a man without integrity." I snorted and covered my mouth and Peter looked at me, "Hush you." He looked back at Gamora, "Peter Quill. People call me Star-Lord and this is my sister, Nefertiti, they call her-"

Gamora interrupted him, "Lilith. I know of her. You have the bearing of a man of honor." I watched this interaction with amusement. Peter wants to sleep with her and Gamora just wants the stupid Orb for whatever reason. Peter tossed the Orb in his hands, "Well, you know, I wouldn't say that." I smirked, "I definitely wouldn't say that." Peter kept rambling and Gamora walked up, took the orb, and kicked Peter in the stomach.

I groaned and threw my head back as Peter ran after her, "I don't want to do this today." I saw that Gamora was going to kill Peter so I sped up my speed, then stopped confused about why a tree and a raccoon would stop Gamora.

Peter picked up the Orb and started running away while I jumped down onto the lower level to catch the raccoon that Gamora threw. The raccoon stared at me and then shoved himself out of my arms, "I didn't ask to be saved, Sovereign!"

The fight continued and I gasped as the raccoon aimed a gun at my brother. I ran out in front of it and took the electric shock for Peter, hearing the crowd gasp. I gritted my teeth at the pain and tried to sit still, Peter came running over and then looked at the raccoon, "You shot my sister, you asshole!"

Some NovaCorp officers picked Peter and me up and I rolled my head over to see Dey, "Hey Dey. How is the little one?" Dey smiled, "She's doing wonderful. Well, if it's it Star-Prince and Lilith." Peter looked like a kicked puppy, "Star-Lord. How come you get Nefer's right?" Dey didn't look sorry, "Oh, sorry, 'Lord'. I picked the guy up a while back for petty theft. His sister isn't a criminal, but she just tags along to make sure he isn't dead. She's a pretty noble sister. He's got a code name."

Peter looked like a kicked puppy as we were both escorted by some officers, "Come on, man. It's a...It's an outlaw name." Dey patted his back, "Relax pal. Yours might be cool, but Lilith is better. It gives the feeling of death and then you usually feel stupid once you meet Nefertiti. She couldn't hurt someone that bad. She's a great sister, you're lucky to have her."

We were escorted to NovaCorp Headquarters and put in a lineup. I went last and Dey sighed, "Nefertiti. Sovereign from her mother's side, nothing on her father. Her mother died after she was extracted from the species birthing pods and was taken care of by the same Ravagers that Quill was. She isn't a criminal but has taken it upon herself to protect Quill and make sure he doesn't die." The guy behind Dey, Saal, sighed, "The rest are a bunch of a-holes. Transport the four of them to the Kyln. The Sovereign has done nothing to be transported there."

I looked up and tilted my head, "I'm sorry. I won't be going?" Dey shook his head, "You've done nothing wrong. We can't send you there just because you want to protect your brother." I went to open my mouth to argue, but Saal held up his hand, "You have to let your brother fend for himself. It's very noble of you to help your brother, but you're not a criminal."

I sighed and nodded, "I understand." Dey left me out of the lineup and pat me on the back, "It will be okay. We'll schedule visits for you two." I watched as Peter fought the officers, "Nefer! Why is my sister not coming with us! Nefertiti!"

I teared up and waved to Peter, "I'll see you soon."
