Ayesha's POV

I sat down with my son in my lap as he groaned in pain, "Oh, my poor baby." Adam groaned, "It hurts. I feel that it's hurting Nefertiti as well. I tried so hard Mother to bring with her me, but the Guardians wouldn't allow me to do so." The door opened and the High Evolutionary stomped in, "Do you have it?" The woman shook her head, "He does not, sire." I glared at him, set Adam aside, and stood up, walking towards him, "I tried to warn you, High Evolutionary. These Guardians are more powerful than you think." The High Evolutionary stood on a stool to appear taller than me, "Or perhaps you simply overestimate your own value, High Priestess," He grabbed my hair and I grimaced in pain, "No doubt a flaw in some type in my own design. I created you lot as merely an aesthetic experiment. Beautiful numbskulls. But your egos have run wild. Say, 'Ah'."

I opened my mouth, "Ah." The High Evolutionary chuckled and looked at Adam, "And this one was meant to be the Warlock, the apogee of their people." I stared at him, "You removed Adam from his cocoon early, my liege," I didn't tell him about Nefertiti, because who knows what he would do to her, knowing that her DNA has some Celestial in it, "He's still a child."

The High Evolutionary shook his head, "No, there's something wrong with him even outside all that." Adam stamped his foot, "Yes, there's something wrong with me! I was stabbed, you extraordinary phallus!" The High Evolutionary used his powers to plummet Adam into the wall and Adam groaned in pain. I bowed, "He doesn't know any better. We shall do whatever you require, my liege."

The High Evolutionary glared down at me, "You knew of 89P13's existence for years without alerting me. That's not what I require!" He flexed his hand and Adam groaned in more pain, I panicked, "Please, stop hurting him! His mate will feel it!" The High Evolutionary looked curiously at me, "His mate? Who?" I fell silent and he gritted his teeth, making Adam feel more pain, "Who is it?"

I teared up, regretful that I even mentioned it, knowing that Nefertiti will be in danger, "Nefertiti. She is the child of our late Narissa and the god that was known as Ego." Everyone gasped and the High Evolutionary looked impressed, "The daughter of the aesthetic species and a Celestial. How did that run by your Council?" I sighed, "He did it illegally and then killed Narissa." The High Evolutionary chuckled, "Find 89P13 and return it to me, Bring me Nefertiti, or I will destroy your entire civilization. Nefertiti will be a great experiment to see what she is capable of. Do you understand?" I nodded and he let Adam go, causing him to fall to the floor.

Nefertiti's POV

I woke up with a groan, sitting up slowly, "What happened?" Peter sighed and set a hand on my arm, "That Golden Maniac that claimed you were his mate attacked Rocket and he's dying. We're heading to OrgoCorp to find the code for the kill switch that is in Rocket. Why did the maniac say you were his mate?" I sighed, "He is my mate. After I tackled him off of Bula, I felt everything click into place, like we were meant to be. He's Ayesha's son and the reason why he's doing this is because he doesn't know any better. He was removed from his birthing pod too early."

Peter tried to hide his smirk, "So you're mated to a man-child?" I laughed and smacked his arm, "Shut up!" I groaned in pain and hunched over as the pain in my chest got worse, "What the hell?" Peter grimaced, "Since I guess you and Ayesha's son are mates, you feel his pain. Nebula stabbed him in the chest, thinking she killed him not knowing who he was to you." I held my hand out, "Give me a med-pac. I can heal his wound." Peter frowned, "Why would you do that?" I glared at him, "So you would like to see me in pain?" Peter wordlessly handed me a med-pac and I screamed out in pain as a new feeling came over me. Something that was happening to Adam.

Nebula ran in and over to my side, "What happened?!" Peter panicked, "It must be something that is being done to her mate!" I screamed out in pain, feeling my spine crushing and Mantis held her hands over her mouth, running over and feeling my emotions, "Help her! Please!" Peter teared up, "It's her mate's pain, we can't do anything!"

I collapsed as I felt the pain leave, "Whatever was hurting him, must be done. Where are we heading before OrgoCorp? We kinda need a plan first." Peter sighed in relief, "Nebula has a contact. We're meeting them first." I got up and followed Nebula to the windshield to see the planet as she explained to Peter everything about it.

Nebula explained, "It's bio-formed. Instead of being built, it's grown from living matter." I gagged, "Gross." I stood off to the side and thought about Adam as Nebula and Peter kept talking.

I miss Adam already. Stupid mate thing.
