Girl got a new man, but she'll be back around

I was listening to my everyday playlist while I got ready for spending the next two days with Samir. The summer break days idea was finally coming into fruition.

I was excited to just be in a completely different borough away from everything and everyone. Well everyone except my boyfriend.

I get to drive with my boyfriend, get a tan at the beach and swim, and stay at a telly with him.

In order to not get caught in a lie about the fact that I was not gonna be at my cousins house in Brooklyn and instead going to be at a hotel...I switched my location to a old phone I have. Ima leave that at Kaia's apartment and ball the fuck out at my hotel.

Modern problems require modern solutions.

I had my beach bag and duffel bag packed.

Was I anxious? Just a little. I haven't been alone alone with Samir since our trip to Pennsylvania.

Well in a house at least. Camping date doesn't count technically since we were outdoors.

Also just feeling anxious because I was seeing my boyfriend that I haven't seen in a while. And it's like girl he's been your boyfriend for over a year why am I still getting like nervous?

But then I remember that everyday he still gives me that happy light feeling like when we first admit our feelings and in time started dating.

I was fixing my edges when a call came in from Dilan. I put in one of my AirPods and picked up.

"Heyyyyy," I sung as the call connected.

"Hey girlll," She smiled into the camera.

"How is the packing going?"

"It's going girl. I'm still a little nervous about college but I'm so excited to start this new journey and become an ultrasound technician."

"Dilan my college gyal, I'm excited for you."

"Thanks love. Now how are you doing getting ready? So far you look so beautiful and glowy."

"Had to give the girls a real summery look. Finna take flics while he heads over. I'll be at the beach, in the hotel, eating good, and feeling good. A nice two day escape from this crazy world."

"I love your whole life. I pray I get to experience a love like that, shit even better than that."

"And you're going to! Shit maybe college might be it if you find someone loyal because niggas be sneaky."

"Tuh maybe. But honestly right now my academics is coming first. Once I'm really settled I'm gonna worry about that."

"Self and academics always come first, wurrrr."

"I know das right."

"But real life, I'm excited for this new era of my life. Like senior year, applying for colleges, and less classes because I did my shit last year. I'm actually kind of ready."

"Ugh I love this for us. Like look at us! We've come so far from last year and it's only up from here."

"Dylan and Kori against the world," I said and we both smiled before there was a knock at my door.
