Lost & Found | From Su Yu to Wu Bi

I've always flown under the radar,
But you seemed to target me from the very start.
I found you to be a minor nuisance in the beginning;
So I never thought that you'd eventually capture my whole heart.

I never considered myself as lonely or lacking in love,
Until the day that you came around.
You filled my life with fun and laughter,
Showed me what I've been missing,
And flipped my concept of true happiness upside down.

I thought that I mastered concealing my emotions from the world,
But you see through me every single time.
Just from one look at my face,
You know what's on my mind,
And you're the only one who can tell when I'm just pretending to be fine.

You became my instant protector and put me before yourself in everything,
Like always placing food first into my bowl.
It may look like a simple gesture to others,
Just brothers looking after each other,
But to me, I know it's how you show your love,
And it completely warms my heart and soul.

I was lost but now I'm found;
The ways I've been forever altered by you continue to astound.
You've always put me first;
Now it's my turn to do the very same.
Please let me be the one to warm you up with just my voice,
Even if you're getting drenched in the pouring rain.

You've grown accustomed to being on your own for all these years and lacked someone to take care of you.
Please let me be the one to change that,
And help you start anew.
For it was in your arms that I grew.

I promise that I'll be your biggest support through any struggles and strife.
And we'll celebrate every holiday together for the rest of your life.
I'll never let you feel alone or lacking in love,
As I'll be by your side, in heart and mind;
And I'll be your lifelong tutor, family, and trusted partner in whom you can confide;
Where even time and space between us could never cause a lasting divide.

I can finally say that I've found a love that is not shared,
For I know that I'm the only one you hold dear, deep inside your heart.
And there isn't a force on Earth that could ever truly separate or tear us apart.
Whether near or far,
My heart and home will now be wherever you are.

Author's Note: To everyone that has finished reading my poem, thank you soooo much! I hope that you enjoyed it and that it made you feel emotional (because I cried a few times while writing it 🤧). After watching Stay With Me, the deep love, respect, and devotion that Su Yu had for Wu Bi kept replaying in my head.

Su Yu kept everyone at a distance, even close friends and family, because he never felt like he had a love that was truly his - he always felt like he had to share. Wu Bi was the only exception, as he saw past Su Yu's defenses straight into his heart and became a love that belonged only to him. Wu Bi is his protector and home. 🥹 I hope my poem, written in the form of a love confession from Su Yu to Wu Bi, captured these sentiments.💗
