Aelynn woke up early. It was a Saturday. She was quite happy she did not have to go to school today. She walked out into the living room to see Elena and their Aunt Jenna standing and talking about the news.

"Is that Logan Scumfell?" Aelynn asked, walking into the kitchen to see if there was any coffee made.

Aunt Jenna let out a scoff as she nodded, "yeah, it is. There is nothing cute about him."

Aelynn watched as Elena went to sit down at the table and start to wipe something off. "What's that?"

Elena looked at the object, then to her sister and Aunt, "I went to the safe deposit last night and grabbed some stuff. Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood she would loan it to the Founder's Council for the heritage display."

Aelynn nodded, "oh, yeah. I completely forgot about that."

"Is that Grandma Beth's wedding ring?" Aunt Jenna questioned as Aelynn made her way to the table with a cup of coffee now in hand.

Elena hummed, "originally it was Great-Great Grandma Mary's."

Aelynn looked up once she saw Jeremy start walking into the kitchen. He reached a hand and grabbed something off the table, "how much you think this stuff is worth?"

She slapped his hand and held it out for him to drop the object back into it. "Nuh, uh, no you don't," she waited for it to go into her hand, "this is mom and dad's stuff."

Jeremy looked to Elena who was still cleaning, "you can't just give it away," he sounded frustrated.

Aelynn shook her head, "not being given away, it's being loaned. Mom had promised already anyways."

As she said this the doorbell rang. She gave a look to Elena, "you can go get that. I have an idea of who's here for you." She joked before walking into the living room to sit and check her phone.

She had a text from Damon, whom she had been texting since the previous night. He seemed genuine enough. She couldn't see a reason not to trust him at this particular moment in time.

Damon

Get enough sleep last night?

Aelynn half smiled at this, she enjoyed feeling like someone cared about her. Yes, she could go on and on about how she didn't need a boyfriend or anything like that, but fundamentally she was tired of feeling like she had no one.

Aelynn

Yeah, I think so. Did you?

She pressed send and then went about her day. Eventually she got a text from Bonnie.

Bon-Bon

Do you have a date for the founder's thing?

Aelynn thought for a second. Go with Bonnie and have to stay longer than she would want? Or go alone?

Lynn

I'd love to go with you Bon!

Aelynn sat in the dining area of the house with Elena and Bonnie. She had her pale green nail polish in front of her and had begun painting her nails. She watched as Bonnie sat down and started to pull out some colors for herself and Elena.

"Naughty vixen vs. delicate flower," Bonnie looked at the two colors she had.

Elena looked up thoughtfully while she was at the sink, "tough call. Can we mix them?"

Aelynn watched as Elena and Bonnie smiled with each other as the latter came back to sit at the table.

"Look at you, getting all pretty for your date," Bonnie smiled as she started to prep her nails, "you seem happy-ish."
