After the whole incident at dinner, Aelynn had a hard time falling asleep. She watched the clock as the night progressed, watching as the time turned to 2:23 AM before she finally tried to shut her eyes. She opened them again once the sun was shining and the clock read 7:37 AM. She let out a frustrated groaned and threw one of her pillows across her room.
She also remembered today was the day of Sexy Suds Car Wash. This made her groan and roll over in her bed. Caroline was going to work her like a dog during the event that Elena had, in no uncertain terms, told her she had to go because it was being run by their friend.
So there she sat next to Elena later in the day, wearing a black bikini top that more or less resembled a sports bra and light wash jean shorts. Her hair was pulled back into a low bun with her face framing pieces out.
"and remember," Caroline stated, pulling Aelynn back into the conversation, "no freebies, we are not running a charity."
Elena looked at the table, "no we are not."
"Hi," Stefan had snuck up on the two sisters.
Aelynn turned towards him and gave him a smile that came as more of a squint since he was standing directly in line with the sun.
"Hey!" Elena said happily, getting up to greet him.
Then Aelynn heard an agonizing, grating voice, "uh, the event is called Sexy Suds, you know," Caroline reiterated, looking at Stefan and giving the couple a smile before walking away.
Aelynn leaned back in her chair, "I think you both just got scolded," she chuckled.
"And judged," Stefan added.
What happened next made Aelynn want to gouge out her eyes.
Elena looked at Stefan, "I'm sorry," her tone was bordering suggestive, "but I guess you're going to have to take that off."
"I think you have to go first," Stefan countered, his tone bordering just the same.
"I think I'm going to bleach my eyes," Aelynn added, getting up from her chair to leave the situation happening in front of her.
The girl ended up finding Caroline instead. She looked busy and like she could use a hand, so that's exactly what she did. She knew she hadn't been friend of the year lately and wanted to make that up to her.
"Look," Caroline said suddenly, "I'm sorry about the things I said. It was totally uncool."
Aelynn was taken aback by the apology, she didn't expect to receive one after basically ignoring the girl. "You don't have to apologize, I'm not exactly winning any awards for friend of the year either," she admitted.
Caroline gave the girl a look, " I totally made you feel bad about yourself, though."
Aelynn chuckled, "I did tell you that you could speak your mind with me," the two sat down at the table where people would pay to get their cars washed, "but I didn't mean you could talk about my dead family," she said this all with a smile on her face. "But, seriously Care, you're forgiven."
Caroline smiled at her, "good, I need my going out buddy," she put her arm around the Gilbert girl.
Aelynn threw her head back and whined, "no, anything but that, please."
"Hey," Elena walked up to the table, smiling as she saw the two talking, "we need more of those towel, shimmy things, we're almost out."
Caroline got up and had her hand latched onto Aelynn's, "okay, you watch the money, we'll go get the towels," she told Elena who sat down as the two walked away.
