Aelynn spent the next couple days wondering if she had scared the older Salvatore brother off. It was radio silence, and she didn't dare to send a second 'are you alive' text to him. Especially after Elena had told her that Damon had been hurting Caroline, she was thankful that he hadn't responded yet. He was very attractive, but if he wasn't a good person, she shouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. Still, he made her feel seen in a way she felt she hadn't been in a few months.

So, there she sat in the kitchen with her aunt as Elena came down the stairs.

"Jenna, are you aware of what's going on upstairs?" Elena questions, pointing the general direction of Jeremy's room.

Jenna didn't even look up when she responded with an 'mmhmm' which made Aelynn snicker.

"I've been aware," Aelynn pipped up, "I think they forge that my room is directly under his," she pondered, wondering if she should make the two uncomfortable.

Elena scoff, "and neither of you have an objection to it?"

Jenna looked up, "he could be craftier about it."

Aelynn nodded, "and at least make an effort to sneak her in and out."

"Oh," Jenna announced, going back to writing in her notebook, "just so you both know, I won't be home for dinner."

Elena widened her eyes and smiled, "so you're actually doing it?"

Aelynn shared the devious smile with her sister, "you're going to out with Logan~." she made a kissing face.

Jenna looked at the two, "I'm gonna show up and torture him, yes," she agreed making the two laugh, "have you heard from Stefan?"

Elena looked at the box of cereal she was holding and sighed, "not since he left that very vague message three days ago," she looked up and what she did next Aelynn couldn't prepare for, "Hi, um, Elena. I, um, I have something I have to do. I'll, uh, explain in a few days," she shook her head.

Aelynn let out a laugh, "that is the most spot on impression I have ever heard in my life!"

"Haven't called him?"

Elena shook her head, "Nope."

"Good," Aelynn breathed, "he isn't worth the time."

Jenna's face evened out, "and you're okay with everything?"

Elena set her hands down on the countertop, "no, I'm not okay with any of it, but I'm not gonna cry about it either. I was going to write in my diary this morning, but honestly, I'm not going to be one of those pathetic girls whose world stops spinning because of some guy," she finished taking a bite of cereal.

Jenna just nodded, blinking slowly, "okay, then."

"I'll be fine," Elena told them, but Aelynn couldn't help but wonder if she meant that more for herself as Elena walked away.

Jenna and Aelynn shared a look with each other after Elena left the room.

"I don't think she's ok," Aelynn concluded, taking a sip of the coffee in front of her.

Jenna shook her head, "not in the slightest."

Aelynn then looked at the clock, "I should get ready for school, be a responsible teenager."

"Make sure Jeremy gets ready too," Jenna said absent mindedly, making Aelynn roll her eyes.

So she trudged up the stairs and went to Jeremy's room, covering her eyes before she knocked on the door and opened it.

"I hope you both are decent," she said, still not looking, "Jeremy, Jenna says you need to get ready for school."

She could here Vicki laughing, "you can look, we're not naked."
