id liken you to a song or a memory,
but here you sit across from me in full stereo-technicolor
id liken you to a liminal space,
somewhere untrue and unsettlingly familiar
yet sometimes i believe youre more tangible than my own soul
id liken you to a folk tale,
but id never heard of men like you
id liken you to a peony,
melodic, soft and sweet, suffused with the essence of venus and saccharin
but ive never smelled one
so id liken it to you
