Later that night when Mizu was all washed up and in bed, Brina noticed the baby onesie Mizu was sleeping with. She had put it over one of her stuffed animals, giving it a pajama of its own.
"Bebé, why she have that onesie?" Brina asked Megumi, her voice tinged with curiosity as she pointed to the tiny garment. "She wants a brother, but until then, that gives her comfort,"
Megumi explained his tone a mix of tenderness and amusement. "Aww, that's so cute," Brina said, her heart melting at the sight. "What's stopping us?" Brina trailed off, her brows furrowing slightly.
Megumi's gaze met Brina's, a mixture of affection and consideration in his eyes. "It's a big step, you know? We both got busy lives and bringing another life into this world... it's gotta be the right time," he explained, his voice carrying a weight of contemplation.
"But we are more than, financially ready for it, you know? We could buy ten houses and still be able to live good, and Mizu is growing up so fast," Brina replied, her voice carrying a hint of yearning.
"But what about your photography career? You've been working hard with that, we gotta make sure we're both in a place where we can give our all to a child,"
"I've seen pregnant photographers still making moves," Brina said, her tone determined. "And we got each other to lean on. We've always been a team, and we'll figure it out."
Megumi smiled, his heart warmed by her words. "You know, it was always me begging you for a baby back in the day, now look. You're the one lighting a fire under my ass," he chuckled, his tone fond. "But I ain't complaining, love. I'm all for it, whenever we're both ready."
