Realization (James Potter M.E.)

Lily and I, the Evans twins, were born to muggle parents. Both of us gaining magical powers, both of us being tormented by our older sister, Petunia. We finally started feeling less freakish when we met a boy, named Severus, who could do the same things we could. He told us we weren't freaks, we were special.

Finally of age, we venture to Hogwarts, sitting in a cabin with Severus. We laughed and talked the whole way, the three of us, best friends. Even when Severus was sorted into Slytherin and, Lily and I were sorted into Gryffindor, we still stayed as close as we possibly could. Lily has stayed friends with him for the past five years, I strayed completely away from him in second year. I had made friends with the boys, the school refers to them as the Marauders, when we were in first year and now the five of us are inseparable.

"Evans!" I hear Sirius call my name, my sister standing beside me. She rolls her eyes as she sees James making his way over to us.

"I'll see you in the common room N/n" she quickly left before James could spout whatever nonsense he had lined up.

The defeat written on his face as he watched her leave made the laughter I was holding back bubble up.

"Why'd she leave?"

"I guess she wasn't interested in whatever pickup line you had in stock today" I smirked at him.

He groaned, slumping his head onto my shoulder. Looking over his head I see Sirius, Remus, and Peter chuckling at James' state. James quickly straightens himself up, fixing his robe, and smoothing out his hair.

"No worries, I'll just try again later." He smirked

I started walking away, rolling my eyes at his comment. Remus walking up next to me, asking James a question as the rest of the boys catch up.

"Does it ever get tiring?"

"Does what, ever get tiring?"

"Getting rejected all the time" Sirius chuckled out

He shrugged his shoulders, "She'll come around eventually"

"Doubt it" I mumbled

Sirius threw his arm over my shoulder, being the only one who heard the comment. "Anyways, Jamie and I have a grand scheme that I want you to be apart of."

"Another prank on the snakes?"

"Mhmm" James hummed with a smirk

"You know I'm always in" I smirked back at them.

"That's my girl" Sirius squeezes me to him as we continue on towards the common room.

The five of us sit in our usual spots. I'm on the couch next to James and Remus, Sirius in the chair off to the left and Peter on the floor to close up our little circle. I lean back on the couch, crossing my arms as I ask.

"So, what's the plan gentlemen?"

After talking over the plan and who needed to setup what, it was time to start heading down to the Great Hall for dinner. I let the boys know I'd be there after I changed. Heading down the dorm steps, I see Sirius waiting for me.

"Do I get an escort tonight?" I asked with a cheeky grin

"The best looking Marauder's should stick together now, right?"

I chuckled at him as we started out of the common room, "I guess you're right".

As we walked down the corridor in comfortable silence, Sirius spoke quietly. "Are you doing okay?"

"I'm fine, Siri"

I looked over at him, seeing him give me a look, telling me to talk to him. I sighed, "It just sucks watching him flirt so hard with my sister. She's never going to date him because of me, but he's absolutely relentless."
