See, Peyton and Rowan always had a thing.

From the very beggining, even though Rowan was a little 12 year old girl and Peyton was 15, the minute they locked eyes, they just knew. Maybe not consiously, but they knew.

This wasn't just a friendship.

Peyton (being the oblivious guy he is) never made a move. Not only did he know that Rowan wasn't allowed to date until she was 16, but, like any other oblivious man, brushed it off as fraternal feelings. The girl was 3 years younger than him, for god's sake.

Still, they both liked to pretend that their lips didn't tingle for hours after they had done a heavy make out scene, or how every time they hugged, they felt warm wherever their bodies were touching , like hugging a giant teddy bear. Riley and Lucas, in a way, were the way both Rowan and Peyton could let out thoughts and feelings that were hidden deep inside of them. Not that they knew that.

But everyone else did.

..

See, Sabrina and Corey weren't dumb.

They had hung out with those people almost everyday for 4 years, and, even after all this time, they still get surprised about how oblivious their best friends were.

Sabrina and Corey, while not dumb, still took their time to finally figure their own shit out.

Their feelings finally came to light the day of Sabrina's 18th birthday party. Corey, months away from being legal, thought it wouldn't be such a bad idea to maybe, just maybe, take a few cups.

It was.

It was the first time Corey even touched an alcoholic drink, therebefore his body was not used to handle any type of alcohol whatsoever. So, after just a few cups, he was drunk. Like, very drunk.

Which of course led to an akward Sabrina having to carry a very talkative Corey up the stairs and to her room. Corey's words didn't make sense whatsoever, so all Sabrina got were bits and pieces of how beautiful someone was and how "the light made their hair glow a deep yellow, almost like the sun". Eventually though, Corey fell asleep (not before standing up, kiss Sabrina on the cheek and the proceed to puke his guts out while Sabrina laughed) and, after checking that he was, indeed, asleep, Sabrina went down to keep celebrating (leaving a now cleaned trashcan and a bottle of pills in her dresser beside Corey). If she put her hand in the spot where he had kissed her cheek after she closed the door and smiled goofily, well, nobody needed to know that.

Of course, Corey eventually found out and teased her endlessly for months, but that's another story.

The next morning, Sabrina woke up, passed out on her couch, with Rowan laying down on the couch beside her, mouth open, dead asleep  (she hadn't drank, of course. Sweet pure 15-almost-16 year old Rowan would never do something unless it was completely legal, and, to be honest, she was definetly the most responsible one in the group. And THAT was saying something, all things considered). Peyton was sleeping on the floor (he had drunk, but he, too, passed out on the couch after a while), his hand suspiciously close to Rowan's, whose hand was hanging off the couch (were they trying to be Hermione and Ron? Sabrina definetly hoped so). She sat up straight, noticing the inmediate pain on her head. It was bad, but it wasn't the worst headache she had gotten (her career was stressful enough to give her 5 headaches a month) and wondere why in the hell she had slept downstairs in the uncomfortable couch, when her warm dear bed was just upstairs. Yes, she drank the night before, but not enough for her to not be able to control herself, and she knows she had been perfectly capable on going up the stairs. She actually remembered doing so, but the memory was blury, and no matter how hard Sabrina tried, she just couldn't remember it.
