Story Disscussion 3: Rapunzel Brothers' Grimm

Two huge writing flaws in this story that are huge mistakes in any type of writing. The authors, the Brothers' Grimm contradict themselves at the end of Ashenputtle and they do it again here in their Rapunzel story twice near the end of the story they call the witch heartless when in the beginning of the book they say she is angry for a moment and then collects herself. Heartless people don't collect themselves after a moment of anger that is just not how anger and heartlessness works. In all three points of conflict the witch's anger is very justified and not once to any major character does she ever raise a knife to their body. If you are going to write stories make sure you are not contradicting your message later on unless you have two characters attempting to argue the points of both sides. It makes for lousy writing when you are constantly contradicting yourself and your message as the author of anything in general not just fantasy and fairytales like these.

All the characters here are very decently humanized.
The prince is kind, and yet makes mistakes. He does not save the damsel in distress he is the one that needs rescuing.
Rapunzel rescues her husband, but she is also made more human with the slip of her tongue her hugest secret flies out and insults the witch's weight.
The witch is a standard strict godmother who gets reasonable anger for the things kept from her or taken from her, but she is described to calm down quickly.

Ever After High's O' Hair twin sisters may actually have a triplet as in a brother somewhere, because thanks this story it is confirmed that Rapunzel had two children. This is the only version that is original. The description of Rapunzel hair color is never told in this story, they say its texture is smooth and fine as spun gold.
