Once upon a time, there lived a lovely Princess named Snow White. Her vain and wicked, stepmother, the Queen feared that some day Snow White's beauty would surpass her own. So she dressed the little Princess in rags and forced her to work as a Scullery Maid. Each day the vain Queen consulted her Magic Mirror."Magic Mirror on the Wall, "Who is the Fairest One of All?"... and as long as the Mirror answered. "You are the Fairest One of all." Snow White was safe from the Queen's cruel jealousy. The Queen's cruel jealousy. The Queen approaches the Magic Mirror and gets ready to summon the spirit within. "Slave in the Magic Mirror, come from farthest space." The Queen began to talk., winds began to blow fiercely within the mirror. "Through wind and darkness, I summon thee, Speak!"
Thunderclaps and wildfires consume her reflection. "Let me see thy face." The Queen speaks. "The fire subsides revealing the face of the Mirror's Spirit, eagerly, but patiently awaiting whatever question his mistress might have.
"What wouldst thou know, my Queen?" He asks her.
"Magic Mirror on the Wall, who is the Fairest One of all?" She asked him.
"Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas she is more fair than thee." He answers her back easily. "Alas for her! Reveal her name!" The Queen demands it.
"Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow." The Mirror responds to the Queen.
"Snow White!" The Queen exclaimed.
The screen fades to white, white brick walls with common green ivy marking the borders of the castle courtyard appearing, where upon the front steps before the castle doors a girl sat dressed in rags scrubbing the stones with a scrub brush and wooden bucket filled with soapy water. She was humming a very happy tune here. A pair of pigeons, a pair of sparrows and a trio of doves listening to her gorgeous voice. She had black hair in a bob that chose to curl just behind her ears, rose red lips, and pasty-white skin. This was Snow White and this is her story we begin. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
This one day, this beautiful Princess Snow would meet a charming Prince. Blissfully unaware as she sings both her Prince-to-be's presence and her step-mother watching her from a floor up above in the palace went unnoticed as she made small talk with her animal companions and sang them a song. She poured the water from the bucket onto the steps and placed it back at the top of the front steps. Then she moved towards the well within the courtyard. The birds followed her about loving her. She kept on humming and pulls the rope lifting the bucket inside the well to its opening then she asks the bird companions of hers. "Do you want to know a secret?"
The Pigeons, the Sparrows, and the Doves give a nod to her.
"Promise not to tell?" She asks them afterwards. The Pigeons, the Sparrows and the Doves nodded again to her immediately.
Snow White sang the same way a mourning dove bird would sing in real life. (Her singing voice is hardly pitchy at all.) "🎵We are standing by a wishing well. (We are standing by a wishing well)
Make a wish into a well, that's all you have to do. And if you hear it echoing, soon your wish will come true.
I'm wishing. (I'm wishing.) For the one I love to find me. (To find me.) Today. (Today.) I'm hoping. (I'm hoping.) And dreaming of the nice things, (of the nice things) he'll say. (he'll say.)
I'm wishing. (I'm wishing.) For the one I love to find me. (to find me.)
Today. (Today.) Todayyy!🎵 A higher pitched male voice suddenly joins her from right behind her as she sang. "🎵Todayyy!🎵"
"Oh!" She exclaimed flustered and backs away.
"Oh, did I, frighten ,you?" Florian asked in an apologetically sypathetic tone. Snow White kept running away back up the steps she cleaned into the cast.
And in a panic, she ran from the well into the castle some of the birds being the doves fluttered away to the nearby trees or nearby plants.
"Wait! Wait! Please, don't run away!" He begs of her. "Now that I have found you, hear what I have to say."
"🎵One Song, I have but One Song. 🎵" Prince Florian begins a beautiful serenade for Snow White. "🎵One Song, only for you. One heart tenderly beating, ever entreating, constant and true. One love that has possessed me, One Love thrilling me through. One Song my heart keeps singing of One Love, only for youuuuu!🎵" One of the doves hand landed on Florian's hands and blushed shyly working up the courage to transfer the kiss he gave it to Snow White afterwards. She gives the bird a kiss and sends it back towards the Prince for a second time. The Prince looks up at the balcony on which Snow White stood his future true love and she gives a big grin of a beautiful smile before she walked away and closed the curtains afterwards. The Queen, her step-mother had stopped watching them by the time Florian started to sing to Snow White. The screen fades out to black.
Next part in next chapter. (The transcript on Disney's wiki fandom page doesn't hold all the information actually displayed in the 1937 feature film of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and so my additions are what I imagine are the director's notes when describing scenes and actions that actually happen within the movie as all of that is missing from the entire wiki page of Disney fandom and the transcript never called the Prince Charles in a behind the series series making of the Snow White cartoon they say they only referred to the Prince as the Prince in the behind scenes when making the transcript. But the name Florian was introduced finally in one of the Walt Disney books about the art used in their movies and that is Snow White's Prince Charming names it also happens to Prince Ben's middle name in Descendants which means Belle became friends with Snow White's Prince at some point.)
Snow White's actress's singing voice matches Song 2 of the Mourning Dove call in "I Wish".
Even the piano in the background is playing to the tune of the mourning dove call in the background you can hear its keys go coo-ah and match in sing with the video previously up above the one up above.
While her vocalization later on is a whole other other ode to Bluebirds and their more high-pitched bird call. That is why people complain her voice is harder to listen to later on in the movie.
Her voice changes with the birds as the scenes go one we don't see the doves, pigeons or sparrows again in the scene Whistle While You Work.
They did a really sweet stunning easter egg reference to this song in the alternate universe of ABC's Once Upon A Time Disney show Season 6 in the Musical Episode the blue birds that appear in Snow White and Prince sing right at the beginning just before the song occurs you heard a blue bird singing the very first notes of Whistle While You work
