Hey guys! Just wanted to let you all know that I have a poll up in my conversations board for the next story I'll post. If you're interested feel free to take a look and put down which you would like to read. Thank you!
Peeking your eyes open, you instantly sat up when you saw the sunlight reflecting off the waterfall. It's already morning. Risking a look down, you smiled when you saw you had legs instead of a snake tail. That water actually worked.
"Damian, it worked." You laughed, standing and walking around in excitement.
Sure, you walked most of the night, but you missed walking in the daytime. Not hearing anything from Damian, you turned to him and crouched down to shake his shoulder. He only groaned which sounded like he was in pain. Confused, you frowned when he grimaced. He looked pale and he was sweating. Almost like he was sick.
Grabbing his hand, you put your hand on his forehead. He's definitely got a fever. When he opened his eyes, you gasped when you saw he still had snake eyes. That water should have cured him. Looking down at his legs, you bit your lip when you saw from the knee down, he had a snake tail. Seems it only worked halfway for him. Maybe he needs more.
Scooting to the supply bag, you took out the last jar, but stopped. This is supposed to be for Mary. If you give this to Damian and Muna changes her, she'll be stuck as a Naga. She'll be forced to stay here. Looking between him and the jar, you let out a breath. He needs this more. You have a chance to go save Mary before Muna get to her.
Going back to him, you helped him sit up against you before you opened the jar and made him drink it. At least it got him to open his eyes, though he still seemed weak.
"(Y/N), I'm cold." He groaned, rolling over to wrap his arms around you and to rest his head on your shoulder, "You're warm and comfortable."
"You've got a fever." You explained, hugging him back, "Chances are the cure fought off as much of the poison as it could. The amount you took wasn't enough. Your body's trying to fight off the poison like a cold. I gave you the other jar."
He was quiet for a minute, so you thought he fell asleep, "What about your friend?"
Nodding, you helped him lay down, "I'm going to go warn her now. You're safe in the cave and the rest of the cure should get rid of the rest of the poison."
"No." He muttered tiredly while grabbing your hand almost painfully, "To dangerous. Jade, Muna."
"I have to warn Macy or Muna will get her." You pointed out, "I'll be okay. I'll stay in the water. If I recall just down the river is where, Jake was killed and where I was captured. I can find the village from there."
He hesitated before pointing towards the other side of the cave, "There's a machete over there. Take it with you in case they find you."
Nodding you searched around before finding it. Since you were far enough back and he seemed tired enough, you also changed. He's going to need all the layers he can get anyway just to stay warm. Throwing his shirt, that you used on him, you pulled his blanket around him again.
"I'm going now. Stay here and rest. I'll find a way back and let you know when we can get off the island."
He nodded, but it looked like he was already asleep. Glancing at him, you jumped through the waterfall. The water was cold, but it just woke you up even more. This time you didn't bother looking for a way out. You let it carry you down. Most of the time, you would hold your breath and stay under, so there was less chance of Jade finding you if he was in the area. However, you made your way to land when you saw the fire pit in a somewhat familiar area. This is where you camped when you first escaped from Jade.
Climbing out, you sat on one of the large rocks to let the sun dry you off. Every time there was a rustle, you jumped. Your hand stayed on the handle of the machete. Thankfully, nothing approached you. You started walking down the trail, but you were extra cautious. You would be thrilled if you could actually walk back into the village like nothing happened, but after the villager's last reaction, you don't want to risk creating a scene. Reaching the village, you hid behind a tree as you looked around. Macy was on the far side talking to a human Muna.
As a human, he might only have human senses, however you don't want to take a risk. Keeping a wide amount of space between you and the village, you only got closer again when you were behind Macy. Watching closely, you were excited when Muna left Macy. It's the only time you'll get with her.
"Macy." You whispered, "It's (Y/N). Don't turn around."
Trusting her, you waited for some kind of response from her, "(Y/N), are you okay? Are you, a Naga?"
"No, but you're about to be." You explained, "Do not trust Muna. Don't ever be alone with him."
"Muna? Why?" She gasped, but there's no time for her questions.
"Is the plane still coming tomorrow?"
"Yes, about noon." She answered, sounding worried.
"Good. When it gets here light a flare from it. We'll be there and we will have to leave quickly." You explained.
"I will." She assured you, which made you feel a lot better, "Who's we?"
"I can't answer, I have to leave. Remember, don't trust Muna." Making sure you reminded her, you left.
You've already been out in the open for far longer than you would like, though it's probably only been a few hours. Staying low, you made your way back to the cave. You couldn't describe the feeling that came over you. Your skin seemed to prickle, and a cold breeze seemed to hit you. A strong feeling of fear hit you as your instincts told you to turn around. Keeping your hand on the machete, you turned around. Turning around to look, you only had time to pull out the machete, before a flash of brown knocked you to the ground. Gasping for air, you grimaced at the grip on your wrists.
"Found you." Jade hissed, sounding furious though there was a cruel twisted smile on his face.
Fear hit you as you tried looking around for the machete. Tilting your head back, you saw that it was just out of reach of your hands. Grimacing as he moved your arms to grip your wrists in one hand, you tried breaking them free.
"I told you; I love to chase." He growled, moving his face so you were almost touching noses, "What I hate is you left with him! Why? Was it to be with him? Did he convince you to become his mate instead of mine?"
Shaking your head, you felt tears run down your face due to fear. Kicking your feet against the ground, you hoped you could get out from under him or grab the machete. All that came to a halt when his free hand wrapped around your neck. You tried breathing, but his hand only squeezed tighter.
"He won't get the chance. I won't let him take you from me." He snapped, brushing his lips against yours, "You're turned back human, but we'll fix that. We'll fix everything, right now, until we're completely each other's."
You wanted to argue, to scream, or plead for him not to. However, he kissed you while increasing his grip on your neck. Making it clear that you were going to be his or he was going to kill you. Giving one more push on the ground, you finally wrapped your fingers around the handle of the machete. Maybe you'll have a fighting chance now.
