Trying to stay calm as all the Naga's were facing the stage, you glanced over at Damian for a second. His tail was already turning into legs. Yours was too, though the pain is still there it's dull. Seeing Neeka raise her hands, you turned to her and Muna with a glare. Jade had told you that this celebration was specifically for Muna. You don't know why they would celebrate that lying prick, but you don't want to throw your acting to the wind, yet.

"Muna has once again agreed to revert back to a human, once again, to bring a mate for himself." Neeka announced, earning cheers from everyone, "Once he has his mate, he will retire from being our tribe's catcher."

Hearing her words, you paid close attention. He's going to be come human again. You've been so busy trying to keep Jade from mating with you that you forgot that Muna went from a human to a Naga. Now he's going back. You didn't think that was possible for long periods of time. Seeing her raise a cup up, you noticed that there was a small carving of a snake along it. Watching Muna drink from it, your eyes widened when you saw his tail turn into legs.

"Tell us, Muna, what is the name of your chosen mate?" Neeka asked, which made the whole crowd fall silent.

"Mary." He announced, making everyone else repeat her name.

Your stomach turned in fear and disgust. Of course, he would go after her. If the high priestess and headhunter had future mates from foreign lands the followers would want those too. Curling your hands into fists under the table, you glared at him. He tricks you and your friends. Jake and Ryan are dead, you're about to be forced to become the mate of a very aggressive male Naga, and now he's going after Macy. You're ready to kill him, when you get the chance. Seeing his smile as he walked towards your table, you were about to lunge at him, when you felt something land in your lap and curl around your waist. You didn't even have to look to know that Jade was watching you carefully.

"Do not be mad, (Y/N). Soon your friend will be joining our tribe." He chuckled, making you nearly blind with rage.

You didn't even realize until after you done it, but you hissed at him in anger. He didn't seem scared about it, instead he smiled. Jade's tail wrapped tighter around your waist. The tightness was enough to calm you down some. Seeing Muna's smirk as he walked off, you felt your anger rise again. The second he lets his guard down; you're going after him. Taking a couple of deep breaths, you forced your muscles to relax as you looked up at Jade.

"You were ready to attack him." He pointed out with a frown, "Why? Are you not happy he brought you here?"

Realizing what he was meaning, you shook your head, "It's not that. Macy is very stubborn. Even more so than me. She will fight him all the way here and even when she becomes a full Naga, she'll never accept him."

"Naga's are very persistent." He muttered, before he smirked and pulled you closer, "As you know. He'll keep going after her no matter how long she resists."

Nodding, you felt him pull you onto his tail. Confused, you looked up to ask him why he moved you, but you went quiet when he kissed you. You kissed him back, blinking at the proud smirk he gave you, before he bent down to nip your jaw. You didn't know why he kissed you, until someone behind you cleared their throat. Looking over your shoulder, your face went red when you noticed that Damian was standing there.

"Do you want to dance, (Y/N)?" He asked holding his hand out to you.

You wanted to say yes, but Jade instantly pulled you against him protectively. An aggressive hiss leaving him as he glared at Damian. Of course, Damian didn't seem bothered by it. He only kept watching you like he really wanted to dance with you. Finally coming up with a lie, you turned Jade's head, so he was looking at you.

"He did same me, remember? If he did show up at the river when he did, you might have found me differently." You pointed out calmly, "We at least owe him that for saving me, don't we, husband?"

You felt his tail shake a little, as a grin appeared on his face. At least he wasn't glaring at Damian like he wanted to kill him. So long at Jade thinks you've turned obedient, it should be okay.

"Fine." He purred, pulling you into a possessive kiss, before letting you up, "I will be watching though. Nothing more than dancing."

"Of course. She's your wife." Damian muttered rolling his eyes before grabbing your hand and pulling you off the stage to the dance area, "Husband? Since when were you cozy with him?"

"Hey, don't get jealous now, I'm not." You hissed lowly, "I need him to trust me if he's ever going to leave me alone for our escape. I have to lay it on extra thick if we're leaving in the upcoming days."

"I-I'm not jealous." He scoffed, though even you didn't believe that.

Blinking at him in shock, you tried to process his tone and wording, "Wait a minute, you....woah."

Yelping as he spun you out and back in, you knew that he wanted to drop the subject, "Anyway, I think I know where they got that liquid. I might be able to get some for both of us and we could escape tonight."

"Tonight?" You repeated, looking up at the moon, "Do-do you think you could get a little more for three? I'm worried about Macy. She's one of my best friends. If Muna bites her, that's it for her."

"Got it." He nodded with no hesitation, "I'll meet you at the river in a couple of hours. Think you can find an opening away from your, husband."

"Probably, think you can get away from your wife." You shot back, smirking at his baffled expression.

"Not my wife, but yes I can." He nodded, making you laugh as he spun you out when the music ended.

"Thank you again." You thanked, giving him a wave before going back to Jade, "See that wasn't so bad, was it? At least we don't owe him for saving me."

Hearing Jade's hum, you sat by him and leaned against him with your head on his shoulders. Letting your eyes drop some to make yourself look sleepy. Feeling his hand grab yours, you gave a small smile knowing you had him wrapped around your finger.

"You seem tired." He hummed, making you slowly nod, "I'm used to sitting and doing paperwork or drawing. Most physical activities are tiering to me."

"I'll have to keep that in mind, so I can carry you everywhere and let you relax when we're unified." He hummed, making you giggle as you rubbed his arm.

"I'm going to head to the hut to sleep."

At that he grabbed your hand tighter. For a second, you were worried that he wasn't going to let you go. He looked like he was going to tell you to stay. That you weren't supposed to leave his side. You were sure that you convinced him that he could trust you, even a little.

"Jade, there's a couple of kids trying to sneak into the temple." Neeka called, making you look over at her.

it seemed like she was giving a blessing over a child. Hearing Jade's sigh, you looked up as he kissed your cheek then your lips.

"Are you sure you'll be okay going on your own?" He asked, sounding unsure.

giving him a smile, you kissed his nose, "Of course. Think of dealing with those kids as practice for when we have kids."

You could see his tail twitch as a grin crossed his face like the thought excited him. You've barely known him for a week and he's already this excited for kids. It's almost ridiculous to you, but you have to deal with it this last time, hopefully. Hearing a deep rumble in his chest, you yelped as he pulled you closer and kissed you hard.

"I love the thought of that." He growled flirty, before getting up and helping you up, "I'll be there soon. Be safe."

Nodding as you watched him slither away, you headed away from the celebration. Once you were sure you were alone, you smirked to yourself. At least you didn't have to do anything to drastic. Chuckling to yourself, you left the village to the jungle.
