Two weeks later, Kent Farm, Smallville
Lois headed back into the home after she escorted Kara to her training on the ship. As she walked in through the front door, Lois heard Jonathan and Martha talking to one another in the kitchen. She decided to go and greet them and ask them a few questions. As Lois walked into the kitchen, Jonathan and Martha stopped talking and greeted her with a smile.
Martha smiled. "Good morning, Lois. Did you see Kara to her training?" Martha said warmly,
Lois smiled before she replied, "Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Kent. Yes, she said that she should be training all day. She didn't know what type of Training that Lara-El had set up for her."
Jonathan frowned. "I hope that Kara doesn't push herself too hard." Jonathan took out a mug before he continued. "Would you like some coffee, Lois?" Jonathan was kind as he said.
Lois smiled as she replied, "I would love some coffee. Thank you Mr Kent." Lois paused as she took the mug with coffee from Jonathan before she continued. "I hope not, but she said that she needs to be stronger and faster to be able to overcome any challenge that may arise."
Jonathan passed the sugar, creamer, and spoon to Lois. "You're welcome. Knowing Kara, she will try to carry the weight of the whole world on her shoulders if she could." Jonathan was concerned as he said.
Martha took the spoon and creamer from Lois when she was done. "True, but it is in her nature to lift others up and bring them hope." Martha cleaned off the spoon and put the creamer away before she continued. "On another note, what are your plans for the day now that your girlfriend is occupied?" Martha was genuine as she said.
Lois looked at Martha as she replied, "I was planning on going Christmas shopping for Kara. I have an idea of what I am going to get her, but...."
Jonathan and Martha looked at each other briefly. "But what, Lois?" Martha was concerned as she asked.
Lois frowned as she replied, "I know that this is an odd question. But how did you all hide Kara's birthday and Christmas gifts when she was younger?"
Jonathan and Martha laughed. "It was tough, but it was easy until she reached puberty. Then, we had to start hiding her presents at different houses of friends without telling her." Jonathan was honest as he replied.
Lois frowned as she thought about it before she said, "Hmm, I suppose that I could ask Chloe or Jessica to see if they can hold Kara's gifts until Christmas break, I don't know where else afterwards."
Martha smiled. "Don't worry about too much, Lois. I am sure that you will figure something out before that happens." Martha said warmly,
Lois smiled as she finished her coffee. Soon, she went upstairs and got ready to go shopping in town. Lois told Jonathan and Martha goodbye as she left the house. She rubbed Sophie's back before she walked to her car. Lois headed into Smallville to the mall. She went to several shops where she bought cute and bright colored clothes that she knew that Kara would like to wear. She went and bought something festive and special for them to wear together in private. Lois put the stuff that she had bought in the trunk of her car. She then went in and got something for lunch. As she ate lunch, Lois kept getting the feeling someone was watching her. When she looked around, there was no one looking at her. After Lois was done eating, she headed to her car and drove a little way to get some flowers and mistletoe to hang up. After purchasing the mistletoe, she walked next door to the bakery to get something sweet to give to Kara after she got done training that evening. As she walked back towards her car, Lois was pleased with herself. However, Lois was startled when she suddenly heard what sounded like a child crying in the alley between the two buildings.
