Metropolis Observatory, Halloween

With a soft pop, a purple bowler appeared floating above the ground. Mister Mxyzptlk slowly materialized from his bowler with a sinister grin. He looked as far as he could as the sun slowly set in the western sky.

"It is time for my revenge on those who made a fool of me. It's Halloween and everyone is entitled to one good scare. We shall see who gets tricked and who gets treated tonight. Let's get this party started with a few zombies and pumpkin monsters. Then, we will see what frights this world has to offer." Mister Mxyzptlk said with sinister intentions before he snapped his fingers.

Earlier that evening

Lois complained as she waited for Kara to come out of her bathroom. "Come on, Kara. You promised to go to Lana's Halloween Party with me."

Kara was nervously from her bathroom, "I-I k-know, b-but d-do I-I h-have t-to g-go l-like t-this?"

Lois sighed as she replied, "You promised to wear a pair of glasses but haven't yet, so you agreed to go dressed this way for me."

Kara said, "Y-yes, but that was just pillow talk."

Lois pleaded as she replied, "But, you promise. Please, let me see how you look and go with me."

Kara sighed as she unlocked her bathroom door before she said, "Fine, you win. A promise is a promise."

Kara slowly opened her bathroom door as she stepped out to where Lois could see her. Kara came out

with her hair up in a bun and wearing a business dress, high heels, and a pair of matching fake glasses. Lois looked shocked and in awe as Kara blushed.

Lois smiled as she said, "You.... you look very beautiful, Kara."

Kara felt her face heat up as she replied, "T-thank you, Lois. Y-you look beautiful too." Kara composed herself before she continued. "What are we going as again?"

Lois smiled as she walked over and fixes Kara's collar before she replied, "You are going as a newspaper editor, and I am going as your lead reporter."

Kara smiled as she wrapped her arms around Lois' waist before she said, "That sounds very.... Career inspiring, but wouldn't our relationship be considered.... unethical?"

Lois laughed as she wrapped her arms on top of Kara's before she kissed Kara's lips and replied, "Well, it doesn't matter what the other reporters thinks about their boss and her favorite reporter behind closed doors. Now, does it?"

Kara smiled and kissed Lois back before she replied, "I suppose that you are right. We shouldn't keep our friends waiting."

They kissed one last time before they grabbed their pursed and headed downstairs. Martha took their pictures before they told Kara's parents that they would be back later after the party. They went outside and got into Lois's car before they headed to Lana's house. After some time, they arrived to the music loudly shaking Lana's home. They got out and walked to the front door. They rang the doorbell and were greeted by Lana. Lana greeted them with a welcoming smile and invited them. They joined Chloe, Jessica, and Pete. The party continued on as the sun started to set. As the last of the sunset linger, everything seemed to go into slow motion and all sound stopped. Suddenly, the house went pitch black right before the ground shook violently. There were screams all around them as Kara held a frightened Lois close. Then, the ground slowly stopped shaking. Everyone looked around as they were still in shocked as everything seemed to become eerily quiet as a dread spread through everyone. Suddenly, a roar could be heard as it echoed through the early night's sky. Then, many more echoed back. It was soon followed by the sound of moans. Lana grabbed a flashlight and shined it around. In the windows that the light hit, ghoulish figures could be seen shuffling by. Kara looked frightened into Kara's eyes.
