CHAPTER NINE

     When I got to school on Monday,Anastasia and two girls whom I'd never seen before looked at me with looks that could kill.I avoided eye contact with them,as I scanned the class for kunle we had to practice again before we could deliver it in front of the class.
   He suddenly walks in and drops his back on his sit,I hear one of the girls asking Anastasia"is that him?"and she nods.Their eyes all shine in delight.
   One of the girls work up to him and wave"Hi I'm Miracle,but you can call me Mimi"she says,her smile stretching to her eyes.
   "Ok"was the only thing kunle said.Anastacia was about walking to him when he walked to me.
  "You were right"he says
   "Huh?"I say completely lost
    "You were right about the maize,they grew quickly"he says
    "Oh..,did you remember to bring it?"I ask in panic,that was the whole point of the practical.
   "Of course"he says"why would I forget it"he chuckles"I mean that's the whole point of the practical"
   "Ku ku"Anastasia says from behind as she places her hand on his left shoulder.
    Ku ku? What kind of stupid Nick name was that.When she saw he didn't reply her she called him by his real name.
  "Kunle"she says
   "What?"he replies,the smile on his face suddenly turns to a frown as he sees the length of her skirt.
   "How was your practical?"she asks
   "Ask chioma,we did it together"he says and she frowns,then she looks at me and replaces her frown with a smile."How was the practical chioma?"she asks
   I raise a brow up telling her I knew the smile was fake before I said"it was fine"
   "Good, kunle you're a new student,so in case you need anything don't hesitate to tell me okay"she says to kunle
   "I won't be needing anything"he says and removes her hand from his shoulder before going back to his seat.
'I loved his comeback'i thought and unconsciously smiled.
  Anastasia gave me a death look and went back to her seat while the other girls eyed me up and down.Lola and Titi walks in laughing loudly but quiet down when they notice that the whole class was quiet, everyone was practicing for their presentation.One person would talk about the practical while the other would demonstrate it to the whole class.
  "My plant is dying"a boy says from the back and the whole class starts laughing,some looks at him in pity.Our teacher was so cunny,she might prolly use this as our second test.
    "How was it"Lola asks and as she looks at kunle who was memorizing his part.He was the one talking.
   "Was good"I reply shortly as I look back in my textbook and start reading over and over again.
  "My own partner was so stupid...I had to do everything all by my self,he left everything for me"Lola says in anger.
   "Hmmm,me I'll not agree ooh,if you naw ace the practical he'll naw pass too.... nonsense"Titi says and continues"anyways,I have the new boys number"she squeals and I raise a brow.
   "Did you call him or chat with him"Lola asks
   "I chatted him up"
   "And...."Lola says
   "He replied back"Titi answers and they both squeal.I knew Titi was lieing but I just kept quiet and played along with her.
   "You go girl"I say and hand five her.
