Zambie

Ahhh... the United States of America. Okay, I'm exaggerating. But hey?! I'm finally here! Oh, let me rephrase that.

WE are finally here! Yes, we. Me and my best friend, Cukie, have applied for a scholarship in Harvard University and woohoo! Thank God we've gotten in.

That day where I had received a mysterious envelope was still fresh in my mind. I opened it, and it was like the best present that I received from God. Just like. But it was still one of the beautiful things He had given to me. Anyway, because of my excitement, I immediately called Cukie, and there I heard the choir singing, "hallelujah". She was also accepted! Could you believe it?

And here we are, looking for tita Pia, her aunt that lives a long time here in Cali to welcome us in this new society. We are actually Filipinos and so is her aunt.

"Cukie, is she already here?" I asked her. "Yeah, she's right overrrrrr... there! There she is."

Once we spotted tita, who was smiling at us, we ran towards her like grasses that missed the horse's craving for us badly. Or was it the opposite? Nah, who cares!

Back to reality. Gosh, she still looked fresh. I've actually met tita already when I was young. "Hello, ladies. Welcome to your new world."

"Thank you, ta." We said. Tita, or for short ta, is what we adress our aunt, or women that aren't our moms but almost have the same age as theirs in our country.

We all hugged each other and pulled away. "Come, ladies. It's time to show you your new home," she declared making my adrenaline rush more and more. We went to where her car was parking and went inside.

Stella poked at me, "Breathe Frank, breathe." We both laughed.

♡♡♡♡♡

Awesome.

The first word that entered my brain. I could really play volleyball in this place. In our place.

When we entered, I was awestruck by the view. So was Stella. I could see tall skyscrapers, the busy streets, and birds that were flying freely outside the tall window.

Huh, birds? Seriously? Am I kidding you people? But seriously there are birds flying.

The living room walls were coated with a beige color. A white couch placed on the center and a huge curve television in front of it. The floor was covered with Saman Roble ceramic tiles.

We went into the kitchen and... Woah. Seriously?!?! It was complete from stove to teaspoon! It was weird that the majority color of the kitchen was black and red. Hmm, that was really far from the brown family, but who cares?! We had a huge kitchen even though we haven't been fond of cooking.

And we're more fond of eating.

Then we visited the bedrooms. There were only two bedrooms, and it was facing each other with a bathroom door in the middle. The first bedroom was white with a little touch of yellow. The second one was... Okay, the suite was really getting weird. The walls were black, and the floor was covered with dark brown wood tile. It also has a little touch of navy blue at the corners. And my comment was...

"Cukie, can I take this room?! I really love it!"

"Sure. I'll just take the other room. Besides, that room is really creepy. It reminds me of Insidious 3. Ughh!"

I laughed at her. "Khris, it's been 5 years since we last watched that movie. Move on!"

"Still. I can't forget about that awful face." She stated firmly.

"Fine and thank you."

I grabbed my luggage and ran towards the boyish room excitedly. Stella laughed at my childish action.

She left my door open, and I heard a door opened, it meant that she entered the girly room again.

"Ladies I'll leave you for a couple of hours here, and I'll just fetch you for dinner."

"Sure tita. Thanks for the help!"

"Okay, ta. Thank you!"

We replied simultaneously. I heard the cracking of her heels and the soft slam from the door.

I heard a scream! No, SCREAMS! And then I realized it was the both of us. I went outside my room and saw her running also towards the exit of her door.
We stop at our tracks and stared at each other. 1..2..3...

"WE HAVE A SUITE!!!!!!!"

♡♡♡♡♡

Hey, bored readers! Or active readers! No green thoughts! Anyway, this is still part of the past, and hopefully you'll be patient with me in waiting for the present. When I say present, it means the imagined day. Okay I'm spoiling. God bless!!
