"I must apologise, but this is an important matter" Jing sighed as he crossed his arms while the soldiers of the unit were making the people of the Tavern move away from the building.
"Huh... I see I see, sorry for my questions General, but having you and lady Yuan coming with your whole unit to my Tavern really made me and the people worried" Lin, the owner of the tavern looked stressed as he probably was feeling like Jing was about to judge him guilty or something.
Truthfully, Jing was actually calm and simply moving carefully. We wanted to investigate around the tavern without all the people coming in and out.
"There's nothing to be worried" Jing smiled softly "It's just a normal check" he said innocently
"Indeed" I said and Jing's lips twitched. He looked at me as I was eating a plate of teryyaki meat I ordered in the Tavern before it would get closed for investigation.
"But if we discover something, we will probably ask you to keep your tavern closed for further investigations" Jing continued as he got back to look at Lin, who opened up his eyes
"What?!"
"Yeah what?" I exclaimed as I was eating, feeling already sad to see the tavern closed for more than one day. The smell of the noodles and their teriyaki meat was so good to smell around the quartiers whenever I had time to walk through the streets nearby.
"Can you please focus?" Jing sighed as he felt like I wasn't helping at all.
Which I mean, it was true, but I was charging myself with some food.
Lin laughed gently "So glad to see Lady Yuan back with her usual dragon appetite"
Jing turned to me with an irritated stare "Fen, we're working, stop that" He took my plate under Luocha's laughs and my mad stare
"I paid for those!" I exclaimed as I pulled the plate back to me and Jing sighed to then move his hand on his forehead, like he was about to lose it.
"Oi oi Fen" Luocha laid his hand on my head "They won't go away, better we focus on the mission" he tried to pull the plate off me and I looked at him with puppy eyes as he was slowly giving the plate to a guard, who looked confused
"Take it away" Jing ordered to the soldier who bowed and run away from my deadly stare.
I crossed my arms as I felt Luocha's betrayal and Jing being his partner in crime. Jing laid his hands on the hips and I looked at him with a grumpy stare.
"Do not look at me like that" Jing said and I smiled evilly
"How? I am just looking at you with my super normal stare" I crossed my arms and Jing couldn't help but smiling at my face, making me even more irritated.
He let his hand on my head to give me a little pat, making me blush and definitely lose the control on the situation.
If I actually had it, but anyway.
He looked at me with a lovely stare and I could feel Luocha's smirk next to me. I cleared my throat to then notice Lin still looking at us and feeling like the third wheel of the situation.
"Uhm... Then I shall let you investigate, uhm, hope everything will be alright" Lin did a little bow, as his red cheeks were getting more visible in order to literally run away from the place.
"Well, now that the boring procedure has been done, let's get to the funny part" Luocha clapped his hands, making me and Jing distance a little and sigh towards him.
We entered in the tavern, asking the soldiers to check on the whole place outside with some soulmasters of the unit, looking for whatever little trace of dark sorcery.
