"The rumours were real!"

"I can't believe my eyes!"

"The Yuan's Masters are back, look!"

Whispers and whispers were disturbing our walk in the city.

I was smiling like crazy, with sparkly eyes as every stand and merchant of the city was handling me gifts and food, as Jing next to me was pouting with crossed arms.

"Look at the baozi! I guess the family came back!" I smiled as I did take a bite. We were walking through the main street. Strings of lanterns were keeping the streets enlighten along with the stars and the moon.

The atmosphere was so beautiful and warm. It looked like there was about to be a festival in the city, The merchant stands were still working and there was so much life. People talking and hanging out, living the night between taverns, theatres and restaurants or food stands.

Jing took the gifts from my hands and smiled at the guards, who were following us as protection.

"Take those back to our manor, in the noble bedroom, thank you" Jing said and the guards bowed to then go and soon disappear from our sight.

"I wanted my wife to hold my hand, not gifts" he said as he grabbed my hand. I laughed a little under his amused stare.

People around us were cheering and looking at us, they couldn't believe their eyes that me and Jing were back. Probably seeing me smiling and laughing with Jing looked for some people even an hallucination.

Everyone had in their minds I was dead, so I bet people might have thought I was an hallucination or a ghost of the city.

But I couldn't care less as the night I was spending, walking and living the city I saw dying in my nightmares, was going amazing, full of warmth and the beauty of holding the man I loved the most hand.

"You're still wearing those" Jing said once we stopped for a moment to see some girls dancing with ribbons through the streets under the music of some guys, having fun

"Hue's hairpins? They're beautiful aren't they?" I asked and he smiled as he did caress my cheeks

"Indeed, I am happy you wore again your hanfu" he said as he pulled my hand on his, while the other was laying on my hip, like he wanted to dance.

I was wearing the typical Hanfu I was wearing before all that mess. Jing and I used to wear a white hanfu with golden embroidery that would form a dragon. We were basically matching our hanfu most of the times, or at least when he wasn't wearing his usual armor.

Like in that night.

"Why did you come out with your armor? Aren't you off duty?" I asked and he smiled a little as he was keeping my body close to his.

I was blushing a little, as he was staring at me and I mean we were in an open space.

"I am, but as you might know I had to deal with a lot of reports... I didn't want to interrupt your training with Yanqing, he has been waiting for so long to be with you"

"You workholic" I said with a grumpy stare, and he laughed a little to then kiss my cheeks.

"Everything to be sure this night nobody will annoy us" he said to then walk with me towards one of the zen garden inside the city.
