"It's quite funny"
Hue was sitting on the horse behind me, while his arms were crossed and I was focus on my way.
We were already out of the city and aiming to reach the little village Yanqing was sent as soon as possible. There was no time to lose, especially when it was about The Cult and my son.
"You surely go out your way when it's about your family" I didn't even need to turn, he probably was smirking "You've done quite a chaotic exit"
"Jing didn't want to bring me with him, he said it was dangerous like it wasn't for anyone else" I muttered and he laughed.
"Well, it's one of the few moments I wish I couldn't say he's not right, I am coming because I know how stubborn you are and also because we're bound to stay together"
"Hue" I wanted to explain my reasons since he made it clear he wasn't getting, but I got surprised as I felt his hand on my hair.
"It's okay" he sighed "As long as you keep your energy managed, we might be able to fight even without the last string of your soul"
"I will be careful, and I have you by my side, no?" I asked, looking into his ice eyes and he looked surprised by my stare for a moment "I have been fighting for most of my life with you as a my sword. Having you back like you were before becoming part of me.."
"I hate humans" he cut me "And you know it"
"Ah yes, you were kinda antisocial, weren't you?" I asked as I laughed a little bit, feeling his grip in my hair stronger. He was probably pissed.
"I have eyes only for my lady"
I smiled "Haven't you felt bad when you heard Yanqing was kidnapped?" I asked "After all you have felt him, you have seen him growing up... Haven't you ever felt like a member of your family got in danger?"
Hue sighed "My lady, it's your son, I am Eternal Breeze. I do not fall for these humans bounds and feelings" he looked at the wooden sign that was announcing our arrival to the farming side of the small village.
He elegantly jumped off the horse and looked at me "Emotions are not made for Gods. If we were to fall weak towards those destructive feelings, we would be out of control and bring disgrace to the land we aim to protect" he smiled at me "I let myself under the service of a little girl that became a queen and strong enough to held me, if I was to let myself feel emotions, they're bound to only her"
"Haven't you ever thought that I thought of you as part of my family?" he tilted his head on a side and I laughed a little bit "You're part of the family, not because you're bound to my soul, but because you're Hue the Guard, the God of the Eternal Breeze" I looked at him with my blue eyes "You're the old brother I have never had, I thought you knew this since we've been together for many years"
He looked at me sitting on the horse while I was laughing happily since his face was quite a thing. His dark hair were a little messy because of the wind and the horse ride, his ice eyes were opened up as he heard an insult.
"Ugh" he passed his hand in front of his face, a little embarassed. He then sighed and moved it to look at me again.
"It's seriously always fun with you, my lady, shall we go?" he said as held his arms towards me to make me lay on him to get off the horse.
I laid my hands on his shoulders and he gently made me get off the horse "You're eating too many baozi"
"Die."
I started looking around me, and my stare locked on the farm where some soldiers were guarding the arounds, waiting probably for Jing's arrival to start the investigation.
