Pack Law, Book 1, Chapter 40, Paragraph  7.8

The interaction with other species. For the more intelligent creatures such as the sphinx, the Leo, vampires and fairies, are the rules of protocol 4, 5 mend for. The werewolf will treat them with respect as long as this is returned. Interspecies friendships are to be encouraged for this will stimulate peace.

James POV

We jogged towards the Lion and looked at the creature.

“Stay back she might escape.” The Lion growled in our heads. We stepped back and looked at the figures while blood poured down of the lions face. We looked in disgust as bones snapped and blood splashed around the area. The Lion dropped the body and gagged.

“Damn sirens cost me seven protégé’s, tasted like ass, though.” That was a siren. I looked around worried that there where more.

“Don’t worry. Those bitches travel alone.” The Lion said.

“So, you’re a Leo aren’t you?”Caitlyn asked the lion nodded.

“Yep, Sir Richard at your service.” He looked Caitlyn up and down and growled satisfied.

“I didn’t think I would see the day I’d meet you. You are the wolf from the prophesy, right?”  He asked enthusiastically. Cat sighed and nodded.

“Yes, sir. But, we kind of got trapped in your canyon.” The lion bobbed his head.

“Of course. You also saved one of my fairies down stream didn’t you? I’ll help you get out, my child and when the big battle begins we will be ready to fight for you.” The Leo offered. He gestured for us to climb on his back on which, to my surprise, we both fit on his back in wolf form. As soon as we had steadied ourselves, he jumped on the ledge above us. We thanked him and started running home.

“Why did the doctors tell me you were gone?” I asked Caitlyn. She sighed.

“They gave me and another girl the wrong wristband. So, when I woke up they thought I was someone else.”

Caitlyn POV

James looked pained while trying to keep my pace.

“Caitlyn, about what happed under that gate.” He started. I stopped and faced him.

“That was the magic of the Gate speaking with your anger. I don’t blame you and neither should you.” He nodded not convinced. I huffed and went on running home, James following me closely. We arrived at my house in the middle of the night. My dad was sleeping on the couch, but he woke up from us entering the house. When he realized it was James and I he ran up to us and pulled me into a hug.

“Thank god you’re alright, honey. I was worried sick.” I smiled. I had missed him.

“I’m fine, but you’re cracking my ribs.” I giggled. Dad released me and smiled proudly.

“The sphinxes came by last night. If you can crack their riddle they will support you in your quest to be. Are you ready?” I nodded and bit my bottom lip.

“Harry all-weather left on Monday and returned four day later on Monday, how is this possible?” I sighed and looked at James and smiled.

“What happened to the riddle everyone knows?” I giggled.

“Not everyone knows that. I did not know it.” He said. I looked at him.

“You don’t know the Sphinxes famous riddle? It goes like this: What crawls on four in the morning, walks on two legs in the afternoon and three in the evening.” James thought hard about it and pulled a face. I giggled and he shrugged.
