9 - Reunited

[We immediately see Viv still running through the cave system, occasionally tripping on a rock or uneven surface.]

[She is breathing heavily and occasionally winces due to the pain in her back.]

Despite her black outfit, everyone could see the darkened patch where blood was coming out of the wound. All of them wince at the blood seen on the screen.

Many are having trouble processing that everything happening on screen has happened in real life. Not only that it was real, but it happened to someone they consider a friend – family even.

[She is clutching the backpack to her front, not wanting to lose it but unable to put it on her back due to the knife.]

[The scene briefly changes to District 11, all gathered at the town hall, being forced to watch the beginning of the games.]

[Thresh is standing with Viv's family, Ms. Blake and Luna, holding Luna close to his chest. Fear clearly etches in all their faces.]

Blake frowned at the screen when she didn't have time to think about her family in the Arena. She was so busy trying to keep Brad safe and herself alive that she didn't even have the opportunity to stop and think about her family.

She didn't think about how it would have affected her family if her plan had worked, and Brad was Victor. She just couldn't do it. She couldn't afford to.

[We go back to Viv in the Arena.]

[She continues running for a few more seconds until she enters a large cavern.]

[CAVERN DESCRIPTION: The entrance to the cavern is a large archway adorned with glistering crystal formations.

Once inside, Viv looks up to see the cavern reaching incredible heights, all encased with a layer of crystals. Artificial sunlight is projected through some gaps in the cave, the light refracting through the crystals, leaving a kaleidoscope lighting effect of colours across the cave.

Deeper into the cave, Viv sees more crystalline formations. Like frozen spears of light, stalactites hang from the ceiling, dripping with moisture. Stalagmites, reaching toward the heavens that seem to defy gravity with their intricacies.]

Despite the sinister feeling that was felt in the room. They were all in awe of the design of this part of the Arena. It was simply breathtaking.

[Viv keeps moving into the cave, watching her surroundings. She keeps going until she finds a small hidden spot to sit down for a minute.]

[She puts down the bag next to her and takes a deep breath, covering her face with her hands.]

[After a moment of contemplation, Viv grabs the bag and places one of the straps into her mouth, biting down on it.]

[She then reaches behind her shoulder and quickly but carefully pulls the knife out of her shoulder. Letting out a muffled scream in the process.]

Everyone winces at the sight. They hated seeing any of their friends in pain.

[Breathing heavily, she takes a moment to recover.]

[After controlling her breathing, she picks up the bag and searches its contents.]

[INSIDE THE BACKPACK: An empty water bottle, dried fruit, bandages and a disinfected cream, a beanie hat, an empty weapons belt and a small waterproof flashlight.]

[Grabbing the water bottle, Viv immediately places it under a stream of dripping water.]

[She puts on the beanie, hoping to warm her head.]
