A/n- feeling good today so here's another chapter !

'' Ghost this is shadow 1. orbiting the compound now. Standing by for visual''
Graves said firmly.
'' whos ghost ?..''
You spoke as you looked at the screen he was looking at.
'' ghost is one of the special operatives on 141 , you'll be meeting him soon''
He reported and you tilted your head.
'' what's he like ?.''
You inquired.
'' you'll find out soon''
He responded as his eyes scanned over the screens and as the other shadow soldiers worked.

'' hook , line and fuckin sinker! That's what I'm talking about shadows. You know i love that shit!''
Graves shouted as he slammed his hand against the metal panel.
You let off a smirk and nodded as you were thrilled and excited but you couldn't lie that you were a little nervous as well. You knew you were protected and the others somewhat had your back but you knew that you were most likely going to see blood , hear shots and shouting but you remembered why you are here and what you came here for.

To prove them wrong and to fight.

You sat in one of the chairs near comms and graves walked over before giving an order.
'' comms. Get me the general''
The comms OFC nodded.
'' check.''
Before getting shepherd online you listened intently as to what was being ordered and conversed.
'' graves. Actual , make my day.''
Shepherd said in a flat authoritative tone as graves paced and made sure everything was on track.
'' we got him. Escorting back to base as we speak.''
Graves answered back firmly.
'' make it quick we cant hold him for long.''
Shepherd warned.
'' roger that.''

Graves sat in a chair next to you before pulling up a screen that showed what seem to be like active live drone footage , zooming in on what seems to look like some sort of base. It looked well armed and was laid out.
'' All shadows , you are clear to engage armed personnel only. Do not fire on the buildings.''
Graves ordered.
'' copy , armed personnel only.''
The TV operator replied calmly.
You looked at the footage so far and you observed the layout.
'' who we killing today.''
You smirked as you looked into the footage causing one of the shadows near to chuckle.
'' look , dusks getting ready.''
One of the soldiers  nicknamed you.

Dusk.

You smiled at the callsign given and you stuck with it.
'' yeah , maybe dusk will make good shadow soldier.''
Another person spoke up as they used your now new callsign again.
It felt good to be able to be accepted into the team now as one of their own but what made it even better was now you had a callsign. Dusk.

'' use the 25 mike-mike to limit collateral , lets make some music.''
Graves continued as his voice was calm yet commanding .
You stood next to the OFC and you stood looking at the footage as it zoomed in now on some sort of gate opening to a building but you soon heard a deep British voice come through coms.
''Affirm. Good thing your aim isnt shite like theirs''
The low husky voice came through.
You looked at the footage and back at comms and you cocked an eyebrow.

'' this is dusk coming through , name and current status ?.''
Your ortund tone spoke through comms and graves gave you a small nod.
He didn't reprimand you about speaking with other personnel but instead encouraged it but you also knew when it was a good time to speak and when not to speak but you also knew that it was okay to have some banter and lighten the situation every now and then.
'' Ghost , coming in. whos the new recruit.''
He said flatly and graves looked at you before the other shadows could inform ghost.
'' dusk is our youngest recruit currently , she's only 14.''
One soldier spoke into comms.
'' 14? Bloody hell when did they bring back child soldiers.''
Ghost sighed through coms.
'' well enough chit chat about the kid , we have work to do alright.''
Ghost spoke before continuing on the mission.

'' be advised your clear up the compound , but the gates are blocked at this time.''
You informed as you scanned over the area.
You may have been inexperienced but you were observing everything that was happening and had gotten an idea on how to speak to them to inform the other soldiers.
'' copy.dusk Give us a way in yeah ?'''
Ghost voice rang out and you nodded and looked at graves who were standing over you watching as you helped out.

'' well open the door for you so stand by.''
You say as you gave a thumbs up towards nav indicating that you were giving the okay but before anything else could happen nav spoke up.
'' enemy personnel in the courtyard.''
Nav spoke.
'' keep our boys covered , dusk you stay on the line and keep us informed.''
Graves spoke towards you in a low tone as he watched. He was letting you do your own thing as you were helping out in a way that was good.
'' it's an fuckin ambush.''
You said out loud as you realized the deep shit you all were currently in.
'' Tv get on the trigger , keep out men secure.''
Graves says as gunshots rang out through as ghost and the others were heading in.
''M friendlies appear to be moving at this time .''
You interjected and nav nodded.

'' cover ! cover !.''
Ghost's rough voice came through a slightly panicked smoky tone as an explosion rang off , the debris and such flying around and the smoke prominent on the building in the live footage.
'' well someones fucked.''
You spoke as you tried to get another idea on how things could go.
'' all stations were engaging danger close. Give me a sitrep when available.''
Graves said urgently.

'' bravo seven one you are cleared to hot shut hassan the hell up.''
Sounding like a fed up dad who had just caught the family dog doing something they wasn't supposed to.

A day's work is hard and steady but this mission was hardy and heavy.
