Six months later....

Cassidy poured herself a glass of wine and began sipping as she stared at a picture of her and her father— Mayor Carter.
She reflected on how things were before he became Mayor and before she involved him in unnecessary drama between herself, Onyx, and Promise.

Remorseful as ever she wished she could go back in time and start fresh. In her mind, her father would still be alive.

"I'm sorry daddy." Cassidy said before kissing the picture and placing it down on the bar before her.

It'd been months since the court case and she still had yet to know who killed her father. She wanted to hate Onyx but deep down she knew she couldn't.

"Waaahh"

The sound of Cassidy and Orion's five and half month old crying, filled their spacious home. Cassidy jumped up to tend to Baby Carter. As she turned to do so she froze up. There was someone sticking something cold and metal against her back.

Slowly she turned around and momentarily her heart stopped beating.

It was Onyx in the flesh with eyes that looked void of any emotion.

Cassidy looked down at the Glock Onyx was carrying, then looked back up to meet his gaze. "Onyx, we can talk about this." She uttered shakily. Her heart beating a mile a minute.

Onyx didn't open his mouth to respond, instead, he shook his head, no.

Cassidy, who was overwhelmed with fear began sobbing vehemently. She knew she was about experience the repercussions for her actions, death was near.

"Cassidy why you crying like that-
Orion's words were cut short when he realized the reason for Cassidy's crying. Instantly, he bolted up the stairs. He had Baby Carter in his arms and needed to protect him first.

Onyx noticed and nodded his head signaling for Quick to follow Orion upstairs, to keep an eye on him.

Onyx then focused back on Cassidy, who looked as if she was going to defecate at any moment.

"I'm so sorry Onyx, I'm sorry for everything I did to wreak havoc in your life. If I could take things back I would. Please forgive me."Cassidy cried out. "From now on, I'll stay out of your life and move out of Atlanta. Somewhere far away where you'll never hear from me again." She promised, having nothing left to give but her word. For the first time in her life she was being sincere.
