2 years later...

Onyx walked into his villa styled home in Calabasas. Instantly, he was bombarded with love from all of his children. The twins Opal and Onyx Jr were now four and talkative as ever. Onaya, now three, was shy but a daddy's girl nonetheless. The newest addition, Omega, was one years old, going on one hundred, being as though he seemed like he'd been on earth before.

All of Onyx's children were the center of his heart and spitting image of him. He hugged and kissed them all before going in search of his wife. The kids trailing behind, asking a multitude of questions.

"Hi hun." Promise cooed before greeting Onyx with a kiss.

Onyx looked deep into Promise's eyes before returning the kiss. He couldn't believe he had her back in his arms. Sometimes had to stare at her for a long time just to make sure his dream had indeed become reality. They'd found their way back to one another after being betrayed by the partners they thought they could replace one another with.

How they rekindled was nothing short of a miracle.

One year ago...

Promise walked into a cozy coffee shop in the heart of the city. It's mid-afternoon, and the place hums with quiet conversation and soft jazz music. Onyx sits at a corner table, nursing a black coffee. Promise enters, scanning the room until her eyes lock on him. She hesitates for a moment, then walks over.

"Hey, Onyx." Promise softly announced her presence once she made it to his table.

Onyx looked up, surprised but calm. "You actually came."

Promise sat down, setting her bag on the chair. "I wasn't sure if I would."

Onyx half-smiled. "Same. But here we are."

"You look... good." Promise changed the subject.

Onyx assessed her with his eyes taking in how beautiful she looked. She'd always been that to him, except it was more regal now. "Thanks. So do you. It's been, what, two years?"

Promise nodded. "Two years and some change. Feels like a lifetime, though."

Onyx sipped his coffee, then looked at her. "A lot's happened."

Promise avoided his gaze. Not wanting to get lost in his eyes. "Yeah. A lot."

Onyx paused for a minute, thinking on what he should say next. "I wasn't sure I'd ever hear from you again after... everything."
