y/n pov:
"you sure they're okay with my going over?" I asked Arizona, as we pulled up to her friend's house. "course, they're all excited to meet you" she told me, giving me a kiss. We knocked on the door, and a man opened the door, he had a buzz cut and a beard. "hi Arizona, and you must be y/n?" he asked shaking my hand. "I am indeed" I smiled at him. "Jackson" he told me. now I know one name, and the woman who's house we are at is called Meredith. I walked around the corner to what looked like a dining room, there was lots of people there. two ginger women, who I couldn't see their faces, a woman with jet black hair, who i'm guessing is Arizona's ex Callie, two brunette's then I lost count of people. "hi i'm Meredith!" a lovely woman comes up to me. "hi i'm y/n" I introduced myself. "great to meet you, I already like you better than Callie's new girl" she told me and Arizona, making me laugh awkwardly.

I went into the kitchen and a man called Alex poured me a drink. I then met Dr Bailey, who seems stern but is actually really nice. I then walked over to the two red headed women and who I think is Arizona's ex, I want to make this as un awkward as possible. "hi i'm y/n- Penny?" I asked looking at one of the girls. "hey y/n" she smiled. "you two know each other?" the woman with black hair asked. "we went to med school together" I said. we made light conversation, then I got a way to talk back to Arizona, who was talking to Meredith. "you know her?" Meredith asked. "sadly" I said. "what do you mean?" Meredith asked intrigued. "well, we went to med school at the same time, but she didn't finish until 3 years after me, and she was never very good, i'm surprised they let her be a doctor" I said in a low voice. Meredith seemed to not know what to do with this information. "maybe she's changed" I added. Meredith walked away and it was just me and Arizona.

"your okay?" she asked. "yeah I really like your friends" I told her. "I think they like you too, I knew they would" she said then gave me a peck on the cheek. "food!" A girl I had met earlier, Amelia, shouted, so everyone began to gather around the table. "how did you and Robbins meet?" Dr Bailey asked me, as she was sat beside me, Arizona was on the other side of me. "at a medical convention" I said, putting a hand on Arizona's thigh.

The conversation turned to Penny, as Callie had left, she got paged, she didn't really have anyone to talk to, until Bailey realised she was starting at Grey Sloan. "your kidding right?" Meredith asked, practically slamming down a bowl of salad. "no, she starts on Monday" Bailey explained. "great, just great, get out of my life" Meredith said to Penny. "I didn't know you worked there" Penny acted like she was reasoning with her. "what's wrong Mer?" Alex asked. "what's wrong? what's wrong is that perfect Penny killed my husband" Meredith said and everyone went flat silent.

I actually had the pleasure of meeting Derek Shepherd at that convention I met Arizona at, and he was such a genuinely nice guy, and Arizona mentioned before we got here that he was Meredith's husband before he passed.

Still no one said a word, then Callie and some man came in. "what's wrong?" Callie asked confused. "well this is awkward" I whispered to Arizona, who slapped my hand, for saying something not so serious in this serious situation. It all kinda exploded and people left, people stormed upstairs, but Arizona, Jackson, April and I were sat downstairs drinking.

"I've met your mom actually Jackson" I told him. "really?" he asked. "mhm" I hummed. "god what did she say?" he asked, making us laugh. "she said I had potential, and I should join her in her specialty" I explained. "and I said, well isn't your specialty penis'?" I continued. "and she said yes, and I said, I don't really work with penis'" I finished, everyone laughed. It really wasn't that funny, but because of how drunk we were it made it all the more funny. I laid my head in Arizona's lap while they started another conversation. "you want to go?" she asked me. "nah we can stay as long as you want gorgeous" I told her, giving her a peck on the cheek. "gotta say y/n I think you are everyone's favourite new person from tonight" April said. "but there were only two new people tonight" I said. "well the favourite sure as hell isn't gonna be Penny" Jackson laughed.

"god I know, that was awful" I said lifting my head up, and moving myself to sit in Arizona's lap. "maybe she'll loose her new position at Grey Sloan" Arizona said putting her hands in my hands, intertwining her fingers with mine. "probably" we all laughed.
