y/n pov:
"Tyler Mole, bed 5 dead" I said walking over to Meredith. "that's the 4th person who has died this morning" Meredith sighed. "kids okay?" I asked. "yeah, Amelia said they are good" Mer told me. "I miss them" I sighed, Im so close with my niece's and nephew, and new nephew Scout!

"your telling me" Mer said, then someone shouted for help so she ran to help. I took this as a chance for my break, I went out of the covid ward and sat on a bench outside. I pulled out my phone and facetimed Arizona, she answered straight away. "hey gorgeous" She smiled, or I'm guessing she was smiling, she had a mask on. "hi love" I just wanted to hug her so bad. "how's work?" she asked. "awful, you?" I asked. "miserable" she replied. "I miss you" I said. "I miss you more" she said back. "hey beautiful I have to go, but i'll speak later" she rushed. "okay babe love yo-" she then hung up before I could finish. I threw my phone across what used to be the ambulance bay. Bailey came out, and looked at me with my head in my hands.

"bad day?" she asked. "when is it not a bad day" I sighed, standing up to get my phone. "you miss her?" she smiled sadly at me. "more than anything, if she hadn't have gone to Boston for that one surgery, she wouldn't be stuck there" I picked up my phone. She went to do a surgery in Boston on a little girl, but then everything went into lockdown and she isn't able to get back, for god knows how long. "you will see her again y/l/n" Bailey says trying to comfort me. "I hope so" I say, walking back into the hospital, and back to the covid ward.

*time skip to the end of the day*

Thank god i'm staying at home for a week, Amelia and Link need to do certain things at the hospital and I said I would stay home with the kids, and they could use my hotel room for the week, so they didn't accidentally bring covid home. "hey guys!" I walked in and my bruce's and nephew came running over and hugged me. "we missed you auntie y/n/n!!" Zola said. "I missed you guys so much!" I said pulling them into a closer hug. "let's get some dinner now, i'm starving" I giggled. We set the table for dinner and I made mac and cheese. I sat beside Zola, and Scout was in his high chair beside me, then Bailey and Ellis were on the seats opposite us. "this is good mac and cheese auntie y/n/n!!" Bailey said stuffing his face into it. "glad you like it buddy" I smiled at him, eating some myself. "how is auntie Arizona?" Zola asked me. "she's still in Boston, she's good, I call her every day" I explained.

"I miss her" Zola sighed. "me too Zozo" I smiled at her. "can we watch one of Ellis' surgery tapes tonight?" Zola asked. "not again!!" Bailey stuck his tongue out at Zola. "don't stick your tongue out at your sister" I told Bailey. "can we watch wreck it Ralph please, auntie y/n/n?" Ellis asked. "yes!!" Bailey joined in. "sure we can guys" I smiled at them. Then whispered to Zola "we can watch one of Ellis' tapes later when these two have gone to bed" she smiled happy now, then we all ate our dinner.

After that we watched Wreck It Ralph, then I tucked Scout, Ellis and Bailey into bed. I walked downstairs in my pyjamas and saw Zola sat on the sofa in her pyjamas under a blanket. "hi Z" I sat beside her and lifted the blanket onto me. "which one do you want to watch?" I asked her. "any with a whipple stitch, i'm trying to figure it out 100%" she smiled. "of course we can" I said putting in a tape with a whipple stitch in the video tape. We got 20 minutes into the tape then my phone rang.

"it's Auntie Arizona" Zola said looking at my phone. "I can call her later if you want to keep watching this sweetheart" I smiled at her. "no, answer it!" Zola said excited. Arizona and I used to look after Zola a lot when she was little. I pressed accept on the call. "hey gorgeous- wait are you at Mer's?" she asked, she looked like she was in her hotel room. "yeah Amelia and Link are working at the hospital this week" I explained. "awh how are the kids?" she asked. "good I have one of them with me now, so you want to say hi Z" I said putting the camera on Zola. "hi auntie Arizona!!" she smiled and waved at her. "hey sweetheart, are you okay?" she asked waving back at her. "i'm good, how are you?" Zola replied. "i've been better" Arizona smiled, but I could tell she was putting it on since Zola was there.

"i'll be back Z, you keep watching this I won't be long" I smiled at her, then walked into the play room, shutting the door behind me. "what's wrong?" I asked. "my dad isn't well" she sighed. "is it covid?" I asked. "he said he can't get ahold of a test, but once he finds out he will tell me" she said, setting the phone down on the bedside table of the hotel. "well I hope he gets better Zona" I smiled. "me too" she said. "have you heard there may be a vaccine coming out?" I told her. "yeah, few people at this hospital have been talking about it, they try to talk positive" She explained. "Schmitt is a volunteer to try it" I said. "ah that's good" she smiled. "well, i'll leave you with Zola and i'll facetime you tomorrow" she sighed. "love you Zona" I waved. "love you more!" she waved then hung up. I walked back into the living room, then Zola and I watched the rest of the tape, then went to bed.

*time skip 2 weeks*

I'm back at work now, sadly. I used to love being here until it became the usual for people to die. Actually, things around here "how were the kids?" Mer asked. "they miss their mommy" I told her. she sighed, "I miss them too"

"how's Robbins?" Mer asked. "good last time I spoke to her, her hospital is getting the vaccination today" I smiled at her. "that's good! do you know when she will be able to come back?" she asked. "she said she'll try as soon as she can" I smiled. "hopefully when we get our vaccines" I finished. "we get ours tomorrow" Bailey came past and told Mer and me. My face lit up. "thank god!"

*time skip to the next day*

"3..2..1" and the nurse put the needle into my arm. "yes!! everyone has it now" Jo exclaimed walking over to me and everyone started dancing. "this is the best day since all this started" Maggie smiled. "100%!" I agreed. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, everyone stopped dancing and smiled at whoever was behind me. I turned around confused. It was Arizona. I screamed and jumped into her arms, my legs wrapped around her waist. "you are never ever ever going on an away surgery ever again" I held her close. "I won't" she giggled. "I love you so so much" I felt like I was never gonna let go of her. "I love you gorgeous" she then put one of her hands on my cheek and pulled my face near her. She kissed me and I kissed back, never pulling away...
