Hizashi liked to believe that every situation had a silver lining. Something that couldn't be worked through. Or rather, that every action had it's equal opposite reaction. No good without the bad. And for him, it was his Jacob's Ladder piercings. It was an outlandish idea that he had always humored yet never had the time to seriously consider. He'd always had it on a back burner in the depths of his mind. Something for him to humor, to play around with, only for rationality to swoop in and ruin it. A reality check.
There had never been time in the past for him to consider such a piercing. And God knows he didn't want to be running around clad in leather during summertime with his dick freshly pierced. It sounded like a recipe for disaster. So many reasons, logical and illogical, had come to him in his youth when he'd thought about it. The timing never lined up to allow him to get the piercings he'd wanted. He knew going into it that it would require a bit of time off of his feet. To take care of them as he would any other piercing.
Being a bit more mindful of them. It wasn't a piercing choice to be taken lightly yet it wasn't a life or death placement. It was one he needed to watch. Be on alert for any drastic changes. It was a decision that would, in itself, have a reaction that would impact him slightly. When he had told Shouta about wanting to get it, he had expected many reactions. Shock. Surprise. Disgust. Anything but the reaction he had gotten. A mere two days after the sex marathon they planned out for Shouta's birthday did he mention it.
Curled together on the couch he'd told the black-haired man what he wanted and where it would be. He had expected his husband to vehemently reject the idea for him. To give an ultimatum of some sort. They had a very active sex life, and he knew that a piercing like this would impact it for weeks if not months. It would be a dry spell that they'd have to navigate and figure out together. It wasn't any assumption that his husband liked their active sex life as much as he did. After all, the initiating it was a fifty-fifty balance.
It was the main driving point that led him to expect a blow up from his husband. He'd got anything but. Shouta had always been a wild card in terms of his reactions to things. Even after sixteen years of marriage, he could never be certain what type of reaction he'd get out of his husband. No matter how many he'd seen. While it was certainly outlandish to expect an ultimatum, he'd gotten instead questions. In depth and shallow, repeated and odd ones from his husband when he'd sat him down that day.
Explaining in depth just what he wanted and where the piercings would be. The recovery time. Everything he had gathered over the years on this type of piercing, he gave to his husband. And in response, Shouta had fired off his questions. Thrown at him quickly to which he snapped out answers of his own in that high trilling tone. To an outsiders view, he knew it would look like a fight. Like Shouta was being ruthless with him and he was overly defensive. That he was being attacked verbally. It was far from the case.
In his years with Shouta, he had come to learn it was easier to be knowledgeable about something. To have all the facts ready to lay out and discuss with his husband. No one liked change, after all, but he could see that Shouta didn't accept change very easily. He knew it was merely a product of Shouta's childhood and how he had been raised to view the world. Knew it very well when looking back at how reserved the black-haired man had been. Shy. And he couldn't help but sigh in relief when it was over.
At how quickly he'd been able to answer those questions as they were shot at him. Each with a quickness to leave anyone stumbling over their words. Stuttering. It was worth it, however, when they'd gotten the facts laid out together. From there, it had sank into the first of many conversations together about how everything would look going forward after the appointment. His healing time. Their sex life. The tenderness and how penetrative sex would be afterwards. Anything and everything he could bring up.
