Swaying idly in the porch swing, there was a contentment to the silence. To the warmth in the light fluttering breeze that tugged playfully at hair and clothing. There was a shift that had Shouta blinking out of the hazier thoughts to look next to him only to have that blonde head moving down to his shoulder. Tucking itself up close to his throat as it could get to which he pressed his cheek to the silky soft locks. Nuzzling his face into them with the faint tracing of cologne clinging to the locks mixing in with the cigarette smoke.

Melting into his side as he tightened his arm instinctively around Hizashi's waist had the blonde humming softly at him. Their feet brushing lightly over the porch's flooring until knees bent up to press against his left knee as the arm curled around his stomach adjusted its own hold around him. Another warm, fluttering breeze tugged at the few loose locks of hair that had slipped free from his ponytail. Tugging at the loose fabric of his shirt. The paper resting on the small table next to him held down by his cellphone.

It wasn't awfully cold yet not comfortably warm. A nice spring atmosphere that he could relax within for a few moments more before the chill outweighed that odd humidity. Promising to frizz out his hair in the oncoming months when it became an oncoming occurrence. It weighed heavily in the air with the promise of another round of rain to melt any chance of snow remaining. He could sit on the back porch for hours. Tucked in the old swing that creaked gently with each lazy swing as he rolled forward on his feet.

Rocking from his toes to his heels to keep them going in their light, absentminded swinging. He'd always had a love-hate relationship with spring season. There was so much to love about the spring time from the larger changes to the more subtle ones. When the clouds of the overcast winter sky finally began to break up to reveal the soft, pastel blue of the spring sky with its white puffy clouds. The sunshine that allowed the early freezing mornings to warm up rather quickly to a chilly, bearable temperature.

The rainy days that washed away the snow and provided puddles for Eri to stomp through to her hearts delight. The flowers that would poke up along thier backyard and fence in brilliant colors that had their daughter gasping with delight. Even the distinctive electric feel in the air as the days began to grow warmer. The sun taking its sweet time arching towards the horizon in the afternoons. Rather than growing dark at four o'clock the sun was setting by five o'clock instead, with six being the latest.

The pale colors of the sunset being outshone by the pinks and purples of the sunrise. There was the joy in being able to step outside of his home without fear of slipping and busting his ass on the ground. Worrying about shoveling, icing, or scraping slush away. Checking their tires to make sure the snow chains were on them securely. The freedom in being able to merely run outside without needing to throw their multiple layers on or to have Hizashi shrieking for them to put on another scarf. Keep another pair of gloves.

It was unbelievably nice. However, in Spring came the bugs that always seemed to find their way into the house. Always spotted by his husband ending in popped lightbulbs and fractured glass from his screams. The consistent downpours that flooded the backyard with deep puddles that took days to dry up. Puddles left on the front walkway annoyingly from the pouring rain during Spring time. Then there were the allergies with flowers popping up. With the trees blooming in unison with the growing flowers.

It was always the worst when he was stuffed up for days because of his allergies. When his nose was rubbed raw or his throat aching with that prickly discomfort from the post nasal drip. The easily triggered headaches and fevers that came with his allergies that seemed to delight in driving him insane. The fact that with the warming weather meant more training exercises were to be had outside rather than inside the gymnasium. Outside where his allergies would be exasperated by the time he was home once more.
