It had been a month after Armageddon had been stopped and the world had been saved, it was a Tuesday and a beautiful one. Aziraphale was in his shop as usual, looking and organizing books occasionally stopping to talk to the occasional guest. Most patrons knew this was more of a glorified library than a book shop seeing as it's owner would tell people extrem prices for books or flat out tell them they were not for sale in a gentle matter only getting defensive if the patron got hostile. After a final guest left, the angel started closing shop but when he approached the door to lock it he heard soft whimpers, not of a dog or animal but of a child. He opened the door and let out a soft gasp at what lay on his door step.
"Oh my. " was all he could manage out before he knelt down and picked up a swaddled infant in a grey blanket. The child had blue eyes, not unusal until you look closer and their eyes had slit pupils, upon noticing Aziraphale quickly locked up and hastily made his way to his phone and called the only other person he knew with slit eyes, Crowley. Still holding the tiny baby he waited for a response, finally Crowley answered.
" 'Ello Angel. "
Aziraphale sighed in relief that Crowley wasn't drunk and answered. Shaking the though away as quickly as it came.
"Hello, umm I have a slight problem. I was closing up shop and outside my door I found well, can you come here? Quickly and oh umm quietly? "
He spoke hastily and just barely above a whisper, as the child was oddly asleep in his arms.
"I'm on my way be there in a minute. "
Surprised at the urgency and hushed tone of his only friend a worried Crowley hung up and got there as soon as he could, thankfully not hitting anyone in London in the road way.
He carefully walked in the book shop and found Aziraphale in a soft worn chair, in his arms was a small human looking baby, until he noticed the soft pinkish hair and a single red hair matching his own hair.
"What is that? "
Crowley asked staring in shock, not missing a beat he was soon shushed by his angel friend.
"He is a nephalem... I thought they were all extinct. "
Aziraphale was still in shock but he slowly moved the blanket, two small wings puffed out from the mid-right back of the young half-breed the wings were white and black one color fading into the other one wing was white to black, the other black to white.
Crowley removed his sunglasses and looked in shock at the nephalem child.
"What do we do with 'im? "
Crowley asked looking at Aziraphale confused and lost.
"Well... We raise him? "
The angel asked while using his secret weapon on Crowley, puppy dog eyes.
"You've got to be kidding me. "Within the week thankfully they learned how to care for the child. Each doing their own part.
For example Aziraphale learned the baby didn't like to sleep alone and would whine unless he was covered by a blanket or if that didn't work a wing from either of the two caretakers.
Crowley learned the boy loved car rides when he was fussy.
Thankfully the youngster didn't have to eat or drink, due to it's interesting heritage coming from demon and Angel.
"Ya know, I was thinking about something. "
Crowley spoke holding the young babe.
"What would that be? "
Aziraphale asked sitting at his desk looking at a book he recently acquired.
"Well, we haven't given squirt here a name. "
Crowley walked to the desk to look at his baby raising accomplice.
"Well how about Ezekiel? "
"No, to sharp of a name. Ah Spite? "
"Heavens no. Hmmm... Erestel? "
"Hmm, I can handle that one Angel. Good job. "
Aziraphale smiled proudly and did a small wiggle of joy, then looked back to his book.
