Suri's POV

"You think you're worthy of my daughter?" dad asks Oliver while pawing the ground.

"I do" Oliver says confidently as he stands in front of me. Facing off with my dad.

"Then you'll have to prove it" dad says lowering his head. Oliver does the same and they charge at each other.

"Dad! Oliver! Stop!" I shout as they begin to spar. Why do they have to fight? They kick at each other and butt heads. But Oliver does not back down, even though it's clear dad is still the superior fighting. "Stop it!" I shout with tears in my eyes.

They finally stop and I rush over to Oliver. "Are you ok?" I ask him concerned.

"Nothing broken" he states and I nuzzle him gently. He winces as I nuzzle a sore spot. I then glare at my dad.

"What did you do that? You both could of seriously hurt each other!" I snap. He looks at me unphased by my outburst.

"He had to prove that he can defend you" he states. "As Bambi is busy falling for Faline, it was up to me to challenge Oliver. To see if he is worthy" he explains.

"Am I?" Oliver asks holding his head high. Dad looks at him thoughtfully. Then looks up at the sky and sighs.

"Yes" he says. "Take care of my little girl" he tells him. "I hope your happy Suri, don't be a stranger" he tells me. I nod my head and he left.

"Are you sure you're ok Oliver?" I ask confused.

"A little bruised, but I will live" he assures me.

"Go into the stream, the cool water will help" I tell him. He nods and licks my face gently.

"You need not cry my princess" he tells me. He lays in the shallow stream. I lay beside him.

"So what happens now?" I ask him.

"We find a den and can start a family of our own" he tells me. I avoid his eyes. "Something wrong?" he asks.

"I don't know how" I tell him and he chuckles.

"Do you trust me?" he asks.

"Of course" I say looking into his eyes.

"Then I will explain, once we find a den" he states.

"I'd love to use my mother's old one, but I'll have to ask Bambi first. Encase he wants it for Faline and himself" I tell him. He nods his head.

We soon walk through the forest, it's now night. We're looking for Bambi. I feel him with Faline and soon we reach a small waterfall. We see Bambi with Faline and she's grown very beautiful. "Wow Suri, you look amazing" she states. As Bambi eyes Oliver warily.

"Thanks, so do you Faline" I say and we nudge each other. "See you've tamed my brother" I say teasingly.

"He was as bashful as ever" she giggles. "I see you got Oliver" she adds.

"Wasn't without difficulty, dad fought him" I tell her.

"Ronno fought Bambi, but Bambi put him in his place" she states.

"Good" I say. "Anyway, Bambi I have something to ask you" I state.

"What is it Suri?" he asks me.

"Can Oliver and I have mother's old den?" I ask him. He looks surprised. "Please?" I plead.

"I guess it's ok, but Faline and I will have to find a den now" he states.

"No, we don't" Faline tells him. "My mother is moving, so her den will be free. We can have it" she tells him.

"Everyones happy" Oliver says.

"No quite" Bambi says squaring off with him.

"Oh no you don't!" I snap getting in between him and Oliver. "Dad already hurt Oliver when they fought earlier and I can tell you are bruised from your fight with Ronno also. No more fighting" I tell him.

"But..." he tries to protest.

"No Bambi, no more fighting" I tell him.

"Come on Bambi, can't you see how much Oliver loves your sister? How much she loves him?" Faline asks him. "Their love is like ours" she states.

"Ok, fine" he says.

"I think we should all turn in for the night" Oliver states. We all agree. I lead Oliver to my mother's old den, our new one. Once there, we clear it out. Before laying down. He explains mating to me. Needless to say I am very nervous about it. But I'm also excited about being a mum. We fall asleep with his head across my back. As I dream about our past.
