When I went back home, I halt my steps when I saw Jake is sitting on the leather couch, typing away on his laptop. His suit is placed on the armrest of the couch, he folded the sleeves of his buttoned shirt up until his elbows, his two top buttons are left undone— revealing a slight glimpse of his chest, and his tie is hanging loosely around his neck.
His hair that is usually styled up exposing his forehead, neat and clean, is now messy like he just tousled it with his hand as his bangs covered his forehead.
He put his right foot on his left lap, laptop placed on between, his faced frowned, looking so focused on the screen. That man is always frowning, he never smiles. Well, at least he never smiled at me. I mean, a genuine smile.
The house is a bit dark, the only light that are turn on came from the kitchen, where some of the light illuminated half of him. If I'm being super honest, he does look hot in that state. But knowing better how such an asshole he is, I quickly kills my admiration about him seconds ago.
I am still mad at him for what he said and I don't want to meet or talk to him. So I didn't greet him and quickly walk to my bedroom. Before I could touch the doorknob, Jake suddenly starts to speak.
"Do you have any schedule this week?" He asked without tearing his eyes off the laptop, his fingers busy pressing against the keyboard.
I hold myself from letting out a sigh. Just when I don't want to talk to him, he suddenly need to talk to me. "No, I'll have a tight schedule starting next week." I lazily answered.
I wait for him to say more but he didn't, so I thought this is my cue to leave. I was about to enter my room, but then he suddenly starts to speak, again. "My business partner, Choi Hamin, invited me to have dinner at his house."
I quirked my eyebrow up. Did he just want to inform me? Because we never inform each other about our activities, unless if it is related with each other. "So? What that has anything to do with me?" I asked bitterly because I'm starting to feel tired and he just suddenly wants to talk.
He stopped typing and turn his head at me, eyes piercing coldly through mine. "He asked me to bring you too since he want to congratulate both of us on our marriage."
I let go of the doorknob that I was holding as it hang beside me, my eyes widen. "Me? Going?"
"Yes." He firmly said before he turn back on his work. "His house is located at Busan and we're going there by driving a car. He asked us to stay at his house for a night so bring some clothes with you. Be ready at eight sharp in the morning tomorrow." He explained without sparring his eyes on me.
My mouth fell, he didn't ask about my feeling about this and suddenly ordered me to start packing some clothes to stay a night at his business partner's house? This guy is so ridiculous. "Why did you tell me at the last minute?"
"He just asked me an hour ago." He closed his laptop, stands up, and pick up his things on the couch before he turn his body to me. "And you can't say no since he personally asked me to bring you. He's my most important business partner and I don't want to disappoint him."
