"Say Em, I have a package to pick up now. Can you help me pick it up? I have to meet Linda and the wedding officiant now and tomorrow morning."
"Can't they just deliver?"
"I refused."
I sighed. "Sure thing Beccs. I'll go with El in her car."
"Are you sure she's okay now?"
"Yeah, she is. Maybe this wedding prep has made her embrace responsibility because she took her drugs without taking any instructions."
She chuckled. "Typical Elsa."
I jumped downstairs to find Elsa who was baking in the kitchen with my mum.
"Big bear."
"Winnie the Pooh."
"Winnie wasn't big."
"Bear in the Big Blue House?" I bounced onto the kitchen counter.
My mother chuckled. "I remember watching that show with you when you were 3. You cried when I told you it was over."
I laughed. "I don't even remember."
"Then we quickly switched your interest to The Emperor's New School."
"I remember every episode of that show." I smiled. "Mum, can you borrow me El? Becca asked me to pick up her package and I need to go with El. In her car."
"Sure, girl. And oh. Can you pass by Ethan's and give him these cookies?"
She handed me a paper bag of warm cookies.
"You made these just for Ethan?"
She shrugged. "Yeah. At least you're not the only one with a crush," she smirked.
My cheeks turned red. I held the bag in my hand and followed Elsa to her car.
"Em?"
"Yeah, El?"
"I love your mom. She's a nice woman."
"Thanks, El. She's your mum too. After all," I shrugged, "Beccs is going to her own family. You've already replaced her."
She smiled. "Should I drop you off at Ethan's while I pick up the package?"
"I'm not very sure. He should be out for practice."
Her phone rang, giving me space to feed my curiosity. Just when I wanted to open the bag, Elsa tapped me.
"Wants to talk to you." She whispered.
"Tony?"
"Mily. I'm curious, did anyone ask you for the key to the hotel's API?"
"No. Not at all. Even if they asked, why would I give? Isn't that why it's called a key?"
He sighed. "The person who gave happens to be less reasonable than you are."
"Did something happen?"
"An intruder has access to the API and the hotel's database."
"Oh no."
"Anyways, we'll find out who that is. In the meantime, we're looking for ways to add two-factor authentication to users' accounts. I hope that'll solve the problem."
"I'm sure it will. Thanks for letting me know."
"Thank you." He dropped.
"This is not good."
"That condescending douchebag will have problems with me."
"El, Jeez." I laughed.
"Tony said they had finished practice."
