Elsa's POV

I'd been restless since the day Ethan and Emilia decided that she would take the scholarship to MIT. The feeling made me very insecure. Tony was there, but the thought of having Emilia around made me stronger.

Now that she was going, I had to face my tragedy alone. Like I always did before she came into my life.

"Are you okay, Elsa?"

"Yes, Bridget. I am."

"You've been very distant this evening."

"I'm not feeling too well. But I'll be okay, trust me." I faked a smile.

"Okay. Can I get you something?"

"Oh no. Don't worry yourself. It's okay."

She nodded and disappeared into the kitchen.

My phone chirped a text.

"Don't forget to call me when you want to leave. I'm at practice. Love you."

I sighed. He was always doing too much and it hurt me that I hardly gave him the chance to do things for me.

Like now. I knew that I didn't want to call him. So I wasn't going to.

"Em?"

"Are you okay? How's it going?"

"Ellen left to get something from the mall about ten minutes ago."

"Cool."

"How's Davie?"

"He's doing well. Very well actually."

"That's a good thing."

"Let me know when you get back. I received our order."

"Great. Catch ya later."

I dropped. And sighed again because I wasn't going to tell her I was back. If I hadn't dropped, she would've asked me why I wasn't using slangs and if I was really okay. She was the greatest at insisting.

I smiled when Tony's mother came in.

Ellen was very energetic and strong. She usually acted like she was still living in her youth. She gossiped like a schoolgirl and cheered like a cheerleader. All in all, she was fun.

"You're still sitting on that couch? I thought you were going to do something for yourself. Are you good?"

"No. But I'm recovering." I gave a little smile.

"Oh sorry," she sat beside me. "Do you need me to call Tony?"

"No! No. That won't be necessary."

"Okay." Then she sighed. "I don't know what's keeping James. He should've been here by now."

"It's Monday evening and people are usually very busy at the start of the week. He may be stuck in traffic."

"Yeah. You're right." She smiled. "I love your gloss."

"I stole it from Emily. But thank you." I smiled in response.

"Aunt Ellen, what about the ceremony?"

"Oh, yes. Thank you, Bridge. Elsa, I have this fancy work dinner and my boss asked me to deliver a speech. I need some wild makeup."

"Oh." My face lit up. "I can be anything you want. Just give me your date and your location and I'll be there."

She grinned like a schoolgirl. "Good. I just secured one of the best makeup artists in town. Purrrfect."
