Ethan's POV

Mom had been very ill since the time we discussed it with my dad. The difference this time around was that he usually showed up at the hospital to check on her. She didn't appreciate it because she hadn't forgiven him yet.

That night, he wanted us to forgive him and he wanted to be part of the family again. When Kelsey heard about it, she objected and even insulted him one time he came to the hospital. He didn't care and continued to show up.

Emilia had to attend a team meeting in England, which didn't give her the chance to take care of Lena as she would. She only called when she could. She had two days to be in England and promised to come back in time.

On the day she was supposed to be back, I had coffee with my dad. He wanted to discuss something and I didn't want to deny him the opportunity.

"I just want to say that I divorced my wife."

"Why?"

"She gives me a hard time. And I realized that Lena has been the person I love. All this while, I was wishing to find someone better than her. I didn't find what I was looking for."

"So that's why you're back?"

"Yeah."

"What if you find what you're looking for somewhere else again? You're very adventurous and I don't appreciate you leaving my mother and coming back all the time. It breaks her heart and it breaks mine too."

"I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. Do you know where I've been? Do you know how many people I cheated on my wife with even after remarrying? I swear it was a nightmare. I only touched that woman once."

"And whose children are those?"

"I adopted them. They were hers. From other men too."

I looked at my coffee intensely.

"Look, I'm sorry for how I treated you when we met on the highway. I thought you were going to tell my wife that I was cheating on her with a maiden. My life is fucked up, Ethan. I feel incomplete."

That was when I looked into his eyes. He was full of regret and he was about to tear up.

At the sound of that statement, I understood what he meant. I thought of how incomplete I felt after I just met Emilia. How frustrated I was with the whole Leo thing and how I tried finding love. It was only after I became a Christian that I felt complete.

Then I did the only thing I thought of doing at the moment. I picked up his hands from the coffee table, and I started praying for him. Then I led him to Christ. He repeated the words like he was waiting for the opportunity. The Holy Spirit in me then reminded me of the dream I had where he shouted at me for needing the only item that was left at the shop.

"Son?"

I didn't realize that I'd stopped praying and was trying to remember what happened.

I looked at him. Then we continued praying. I prayed for him for a very long while.

"Congratulations, Dad. You're now a child of God." I smirked.

"Wow. This is it?"

I nodded.

We shared a lot of things. I spoke to him about God's love, the satisfaction gotten when we abode in Christ, the Word of God, and the way to live. He also shared some dreams he had with me that were similar to the dream I had about him. I encouraged him and he said he was looking forward to remarrying Lena.

Then, we went back to the hospital.

"Mom?" I rushed to her bedside. "Are you okay?"

She nodded. "I feel better now."
