Chapter 16

Jungkook and Taehyung were watching a movie after they finished that kimbap they made, they would usually talk and laugh when they eat but this time, Taehyung was quite quiet, only replied when Jungkook had asked him questions, even now in the movie they're watching, Taehyung is silent.

Jungkook isn't sure whether to ask Taehyung about it, he knows that it's about what happened earlier on their way back home.

Recalling it, it seemed like he thought someone had watched him, anyone would think like that when somebody suddenly looks back.

But what Jungkook don't get is who would watch him? or follow him? he doesn't know for sure what it was but he is worried.

What of someone was really following him? Jungkook doesn't know what to think.

Taehyung's distressed scent has faded but his expression has yet to fade and Jungkook is bothered by it.

He doesn't like to see his mate disturbed, he wants to wash away his distress and see his smile again.

"Taehyung." Taehyung has turned his head towards Jungkook at the sound of his name, expression curious.

"Yes?" his tone was normal and curious that Jungkook wonders if he was just imagining Taehyung's distress.

"Are you ok? earlier when we were walking back home, something happened right? do you wanna talk about it?" Jungkook hesitated a bit before he asked this because he didn't want to cause any distress for him by remembering what happened.

Taehyung didn't say anything for a while but then signed.

"I couldn't hide it well did I?" Taehyung still kept his act because he ain't gonna let it show.

"Taehyung"- Jungkook faced Taehyung, grabbed Taehyung's hand, catching Taehyung off-guard -" I want you to know that you can always talk to me about what disturbs you, whether it's a happy thing or a sad thing, i'll listen to everything you have to say and if you don't want me to say a thing I won't, just don't keep it inside, let it out." Jungkook said hopeful that Taehyung will open up to him and share everything with him.

He wants to be that comfort place for him, a place that he can run away to when he needs and want, a place he can feel the safest.

Taehyung wants to tell Jungkook and he's surprised by that because he doesn't share anything that happens to him, though he decides to go with what he feels.

"I-It's just that"- Taehyung hesitates, holding Jungkook's hand who smiles lightly at the action-" I thought I felt someone watching me and I think I saw a figure but the figure immediately disappeared the moment I turned my head but it was there, I saw her." Taehyung was shaking at the memory, the intense stare he felt was giving him the chills, he still feels them as he recalls it.

Jungkook was now worried once it was confirmed.

Jungkook doesn't want to let Taehyung go out alone, he doesn't want him to get hurt.

"Did you maybe recognize part of the figure? something that would be helpful in recognizing the figure?" Jungkook asked, worry in his voice.

Taehyung shook his head, confused at why Jungkook had asked this.

"I couldn't see him properly, he hid fast enough for me not to recognize him." Taehyung said in apologetic tone, looking down while tightening his hold on Jungkook's hand.

"It's ok, I wanted to know if I can recognize that figure and deal with him properly.

I promise you, I won't let anything happen to you and i'll find whoever it is.

I'll protect you, no matter what." Jungkook said determined, promise in his tone.

Taehyung was touched by what he said, butterflies in his stomach, he can't ignore them anymore.

This is not the first time he feels those butterflies who only appear because of Jungkook.

Taehyung is starting to acknowledge his feelings towards Jungkook, he knows he can't deny them for forever.

Taehyung does the unexpected and leans onto Jungkook's shoulder.

'I like him, I really like him.' Taehyung thinks to himself and blushes, finally admitting it after so long that he denied it.

Jungkook froze, tried to keep it cool as Taehyung still held his hand and the proximity is so close that he can smell Taehyung's smell stronger as Taehyung's neck is exposed.

"Thank you" Taehyung mumbled really grateful to have Jungkook.

Now that Taehyung has admitted his feelings to himself, he feels relieved, like a stone has been off his chest, he was tired of always denying and suppressing these feelings.

Taehyung now feels a hand rubbing his back slowly yet calming, Taehyung is immediately drawn in it, the smell of pine calming him down greatly and he wishes to stay like this forever.

They stayed like this for a while, Jungkook whispering him soothing words.

Taehyung unconsciously scooted closer to Jungkook as his scent and need for comfort was too tempting for him though Jungkook was a mess.

Of course he opened his arms for the omega but it was hard controlling his excitement.

He wanted to scream in excitement, his mate has finally showed signs that he trusts him, that he needs him.

After a few minutes, Taehyung suddenly backed away, realizing what he did and startling Jungkook, both missing each other's warmth.

"S-sorry, I-I didn't notice I d-did that." Taehyung had blushed as he looked away.

'What the hell just happened? what did I just do? am I crazy? you admit your feelings to yourself and you got the courage to do that? you'll scare him away.' Taehyung was scolding himself for how reckless he was.

"I-It's ok, I didn't mind it." Jungkook couldn't hide his blush as the moment kept repeating in his mind.

The awkward silence has engulfed them once again after so long that she left.

"I-I should go home and rest." Taehyung broke the silence after a while.

Jungkook was sad that it was over like every time their meeting comes to an end.

"I'll walk you home." There was no way he would let Taehyung go out alone after what happened today, especially when it gets dark outside considering the time was 17:40 pm.

"Ok." Taehyung whispered and they both got up.

Taehyung's house wasn't too far from Jungkook's so the awkward tension was over shortly.

They both bid goodbye, Jungkook watched at Taehyung got into his house and then looked back and glared at a corner of another house, as if he glared into someone.

He started to walk back to his house, still glaring at the same place , feeling uncomfortable to leave his mate in this state of situation.
