elle miles, adopted daughter of simon masrani liked her life as much as she could when she'd been in and out of the system since age seven and had only been adopted at fourteen. she was as happy as she could be when her adoptive father was never around. she was as optimistic as her life allowed when she was so obviously a publicity adoption. 

despite all that, she was comfortable. she wasn't exactly poor thanks to mr masrani and she got to work with dinosaurs for a living. younger her would be having a heart attack if she knew that was her future. the little child in her loved it. 

that was until a hybrid experiment escapes from her enclosure and she's stranded in the middle of the woods with the two boys she had been tasked to babysit, one of which was an infuriating sixteen-year-old that was aggravatingly hot and very annoying. 

so, maybe she wasn't that happy. after all, she did almost die because of her adoptive father's actions.
