A few weeks into her stay with the Elliott's, Sadie was happier, her grades were improving and she was more involved during classes. She'd gotten close to both of her foster parents as well as her little sister who was well on her way to crawling.

"Come on Addie just crawl, like this," Sadie said as she got on all fours trying to show the baby how to crawl.

Adeline just looked at her, laughing as Sadie tried to show her.

"Chase. Look at them," Kaycee chuckled, watching from the dining room.

"Is she trying to teach her how to crawl?" He chuckled also, watching the 2 of them as Sadie continued to make Addie laugh.

"I think so," she smiled, "She's doing so well lately,"

"I know," he nodded, both of them leaving the 2 of them to play while they did a little grading at the table.

"Are you gonna get to her game on Friday?"

"We will. Ryan and I canceled practice," he nodded, looking back at the stack of papers as Sadie laughed in the other room. "He was fine with it. They didn't have anyone to watch Kollyn,"

"Works for me," she chuckled, "Are they coming for dinner tonight?"

"They are. And bringing Koll for a playdate,"

"Can I go hang out with a few friends tonight?" Sadie asked as she carried Adeline into the dining room.

"Where you going?" Kaycee asked, looking up from her stuff.

"Just to the movies," Sadie shrugged.

"Who are you going with?" Kaycee challenged, making sure she was telling the truth.

"The team," she told her.

"That's fine. What time does it start?" Chase asked, looking at Kaycee who also nodded.

"Starts at 8. Should be over by 10:30 and then we were gonna stop by McDonald's,"

"Be home by midnight. Do you need money?" He asked.

"No. I got enough for my movie," She nodded, looking between both of her foster parents.

"Do you need some for your McDonalds after?" He asked, pulling a twenty dollar bill out of his wallet, "I want change,"

"Okay. Thanks, Chase," She beamed, texting her friends that she was able to go.

"Be good. We're gonna trust you,"

"I won't let you down," She smiled, rushing upstairs to get ready for her night out.

"She'll be fine," Chase nodded, going back to his papers to finish the stack that he was working on.

Over the next few days, the members of the Elliott home were just going through the motions. It was school, practice, dinner, bed, and repeat. Thursday morning, Sadie was quiet and didn't seem to eat much of her breakfast before they headed to school. Kaycee took Adeline to daycare while Chase drove Sadie to school with him and let her hang out in his classroom until the first bell rang.
