" Sadie?"

"Mm," she whined a little, rubbing her eyes as she started waking up. "Mommy,"

"Hi, sweetie,"

"Hey kid," Chase sighed, looking at Sadie as she woke up slowly. They both knew it was the medicine.

"I wanna go home," she mumbled, rubbing at her eyes.

"I know honey," Kaycee said as she moved some hair from her face. "We're gonna go home soon. Do you feel better?"

"Mmm," she groaned, pulling her blanket up even more. "I wanna go home,"

"I know baby,"

"Is she coming to get me?" She asked, looking at her mom, meaning her biological mother.

"Is who baby?"

"Tammy?" She asked, making both Chase and Kaycee look at each other.

"What? No honey," Kaycee shook her head, hoping Sadie would believe her.

"She was there mama," she mumbled, rubbing her eyes as Kaycee continued to play with her hair.

"I know she was," Kaycee nodded, thinking she was talking about the adoption ceremony.

"She was at our house,"

"What?" She asked, looking at Chase immediately. That spooked her. "Sadie, what do you mean she was at our house?"

"She was Mama, I saw her," she said as she woke up a little bit more.

"Sadie, are you sure?" Chase asked, looking between Kaycee and their daughter.

"Yeah. It was her," she nodded, now looking between her parents.

"Alright," Chase nodded, getting on the phone and calling the police. They didn't want to take any chances.

When they got home, Sadie laid down on the couch and watched TV while Chase and Kaycee figured out what was going on.

"You okay out here honey?" Kaycee asked as she came out and sat with her.

"Mhm," she nodded as she put her head in Kaycee's lap.

"What was going on?"

"I saw her and I panicked. I don't want her near me," she shrugged, looking up at her mom as she relaxed.

"I know you don't honey. We called the police and we're gonna get a restraining order against her. If she breaks it, she'll get arrested,"

"Do you promise?"

"Yeah," She nodded, watching Sadie sit up before she hugged her tightly.

"I love you, mama,"

"I love you too Sadie," Kaycee smiled, loving that Sadie was so comfortable and happy with them.

After a while, both of the kids went to bed leaving Kaycee and Chase to start their own night routine.

"Did you get the restraining order started?" Kaycee asked as they threw pillows off the bed.

"Yeah. I'll take care of it," he nodded, "Kids in bed?"

"Addies sleeping, for now. Sadie was out pretty fast. I went to say goodnight and she was already sound asleep," she sighed, sliding under the covers.

"Did she say she saw Tammy?"

"She did. She said she drove by when we got home from the adoption and now she's just gonna be looking over her shoulder until we get rid of her,"

"I hate that for her. She got so upset with that one drive-by interaction that I would hate to see what happens if Tammy tries to talk to her," Kaycee sighed, as both of them laid down in their bed.

"We have her now. She's ours and you know I won't let anything happen to her," Chase promised, kissing his wife before they both decided to go to sleep.

Kaycee couldn't sleep though. All she could think about was how Sadie reacted to seeing Tammy. Just seeing her. It completely shook the teen and it wasn't something she wanted to have to see again. She couldn't imagine if Tammy tried to talk to her.

Whatever happened, Kaycee and Chase would protect her. Without question.
